(Minghui.org) Because of the 18-year-long persecution of Falun Gong, a former police officer was arrested and detained five times and tortured in a prison for four years. He didn’t see his mother before she passed away and was forced out of his job twice because of the persecution.

The most recent arrest of Mr. Peng Huisheng took place this year in Guangzhou on January 11, 2018. The police put him in Sanshui Detention Center and assured him that he’d be tried within a week. The detention center staff confiscated Mr. Peng’s belongings, personal identification and cash.

That night Mr. Peng developed symptoms of severe hypertension and the detention center staff refused to keep him. The police had to release him the next day. Mr. Peng quit his second job that day, knowing that he would be frequently arrested and detained and not be able to perform well.

The next day, on January 13, the police arrested Mr. Peng again in Puning city where he lived. However, as he was found to have dangerously high blood pressure, he was released.

To avoid further persecution, Mr. Peng left home and lived elsewhere.

Relentless Persecution

Mr. Peng used to be a deputy chief in the Traffic Division in Puning Police Department. His belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance helped him to fairly and justly deal with traffic incidents.

After the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, Mr. Peng was forced out of his job as a policeman and put in Meizhou Prison. He was brutally tortured in the prison from 2004 to 2008. During this time, his mother died and he wasn’t allowed to see her before she passed away.

In March 2016, Mr. Peng drove two lawyers to see a couple of practitioners who were illegally detained. After that his car was followed. When he drove to Foshan City on April 6, the police arrested him and locked him in Sanshui Detention Center.

Because he had signs of hypertension, the police forcibly hospitalized him on April 15 and injected him with unknown drugs. His hypertension worsened and developed signs of coronary artery problems. He was in critical condition by May 19 and the police notified his family to take him home, not wanting to shoulder the consequences had he died in police custody.

Several months later the police arrested Mr. Peng again and put him in Puning Detention Center on January 10, 2017. Within 12 days, the tortures he suffered took a toll on his health and he developed dangerously high blood pressure. Again the police called his family to take him home.

Later in 2017 Mr. Peng was indicted for distributing Falun Gong fliers by Sanshui and Puning Procuratorates. He was tried in Sanshui Court on June 26.

Benefiting from Practicing Falun Gong

Mr. Peng gives his account of the benefits he experienced after he began to practice Falun Gong below.

In 1998, I suffered chronic colitis with frequent abdominal pain, diarrhea and bloody stool. None of the doctors or medicines I took helped. I came across Falun Gong and a few months into the practice the agonizing colitis disappeared.

One day in 2000 a taxi driver had an accident with a bicyclist, who was severely injured. The taxi driver, wanting the accident to be ignored by the police, tried to bribe me with bags of cash. When I refused to take the money, he tried to offer more bags filled with money.

The family of the injured party also tried to pressure me with money. I told them that I wouldn’t take the money and nothing they did would make a difference because I practiced Falun Gong. I put myself in their shoes and took care of the incident in a timely fashion justly and reasonably. Both parties were happy with the outcome.

The evening after I concluded the case, I was dealing with another auto accident. As I sat in the police vehicle drawing the diagram of the accident scene, a semi-trailer truck carrying 30 tons of steel rear-ended my car.

My car slid 30 meters hitting the railings, a scooter and a sedan. The sedan hit by my car then slid 50 meters. My car was totaled and the supporting steel inside the back of my seat broke off, leaving me laying on my back. I wasn’t wearing my seat belt at the time.

While no one thought that I would survive the crash, I walked out of the car without a scratch. The bystanders were amazed. One told me that I was terribly lucky, yet I knew that it was because Master had protected me.
