Additional Persecution News from China – April 4, 2018 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested, at least 9 practitioners were either detained or imprisoned, 1 practitioner was sentenced to prison, and the whereabouts of 1 practitioner remains unknown.

1. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qi Xiumei Arrested

Ms. Qi Xiumei, 54, was arrested at home by five officers and agents from the neighborhood committee on the afternoon of March, 30, 2018.

Ms. Qi was detained for 30 days in February, 2007. She was sentenced to four years in prison after she was arrested in a practitioner's home on August 23, 2011. She was released from Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison in August, 2015.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Changlan Arrested

Ms. Xu Changlan was dragged by an unidentified man to the Xinghualu Police Station in Ganjingzi District and arrested when she was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of April 2, 2018.

3. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Wanli Detained

Ms. Liu Wanli from Qiuzigou Township, Suizhong County was arrested in Tianjin by officers from the Suizhong County Police Department in September, 2017. She is being held in the Fourth Ward of the Dongling District Prison in Shenyang City.

Ms. Liu was arrested by Wang Baomin, captain of the Suizhong County Domestic Security Division on December 2, 2015, and was sentenced to three years probation and a 5,000 yuan fine.

4. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Yonghua Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison

Suizhong County Court presiding judge Li Yuntao and judge Wang sentenced Mr. Li Yonghua to 18 months in prison and a 2,000 yuan fine on March 19, 2017.

5 [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Lanfen Arrested

Ms. Wang Lanfen, 76, was arrested by two city security officers when she was posting Falun Gong fliers on the evening of March 28, 2018. She was taken to the Dongyao Police Station. Police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a picture of the teacher of Falun Gong, a speaker, and fliers. She was released after midnight.

6. [Yuncheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Liying and Ms. Liang Junhong Detained

Ms. Wang Liying from Yongji City and Ms. Liang Junhong from Pinglu County were arrested by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station when they were distributing Falun Gong materials on March 14, 2018. They were subjected to 15 days administrative detention. The Yuncheng City Domestic Security Division changed that to criminal detention on March 27.

7. [Zhangshu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Cai Lanying and Ms. Chen Fulan Detained

Ms. Cai Lanying and Ms. Chen Fulan were arrested when they were telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Linjiang Town on the morning of March 28, 2018. Police ransacked their homes the next day. They are being held at the Zhangjiashan Detention Center.

Ms. Jiang Suhua was arrested in the middle of March, 2018.

9. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Shaoxian Imprisoned

Ms. Qi Shaoxian is being held at the Third Ward of the Dongling Prison in Shenyang City.

10. [Zhouzhi County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Duan Hongbin Detained

Mr. Duan Hongbin, a teacher in Zhouzhi County Middle School, was arrested at work by Furen Town police on the afternoon of April 2, 2018. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated his notebook computer, mobile phone, Falun Gong books and other materials. Mr. Duan is being detained.

11. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Zhang Zhenjiang Detained

Mr. Zhang Zhenjiang from Fenjinqiao Village, Wujia Town, Chifeng City was arrested by officers from the Louzidian Police Station in Harqin on the evening of March 31, 2018. Officers from Wujia Town Police Station and Jinshan Town illegally ransacked his home on the morning of April 1 when no family member was at home. They seized his Falun Gong books. Mr. Zhang is being held at the Jinshan Detention Center in Harqin.

Mr. Liu Desheng, Mr. Guo Baojun, Ms. Yan Zi, and Ms. Chen were arrested by officers from the Hulan Police Station on March 18, 2018, after they were reported distributing Falun Gong materials in Chuochao Village, Hulan Town. They were taken to the Panshi City Domestic Security Division. Ms. Yan Zi and Mr. Chen were released. Mr. Liu and Mr. Guo are being held at the Panshi Detention Center.

13. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Yanyun Arrested

Ms. Xu Yanyun from Zhang Village was arrested at home by officers from the Shuangdao Police Station on March 27, 2018. Her whereabouts is unknown.
