World Falun Dafa Day Celebrations in Ireland, Indonesia, United Kingdom, and United States

(Minghui.org) This report covers celebrations in Ireland, Indonesia, United Kingdom, and United States surrounding May 13, the anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and the birthday of its founder, Master Li Hongzhi.

Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, passed out flyers introducing the self-cultivation practice, and performed traditional Chinese dances and singing. The events were also aimed at raising awareness of the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa by the communist regime in China.

The United Kingdom

Falun Dafa practitioners of London gathered in Leicester Square, a popular tourist site near London's Chinatown, on May 13 to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day and wished Master Li Hongzhi a happy birthday.

Many passersby, including Chinese tourists, took fliers. Many Chinese residents and international students also took a stance against the persecution of Falun Gong by withdrawing their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

Ms. Dee Hemmings, a retired English teacher, signed the petition to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Maria Melucci, business owner, and her two daughters signed a petition to support Falun Gong practitioners anti-persecution endeavors.

Ms. Maria Melucci is a business owner of south London. After signing a petition to support Falun Gong said, “People have the right to belief and human rights. Every government of the world ought to be informed of the forced organ harvesting crimes in China. The united nations and all governments should stand up and say 'No' [to China's human rights crimes].”

Ireland

The celebration in Dublin, Ireland, on May 12 featured dancing by young practitioners, a Tang-style drum performance, an exercise demonstration, and a parade downtown.

The parade started from Garden of Remembrance and marched through Chinatown on Parnell Street. Many Chinese people came out of stores and restaurants to take photos and videos.

Indonesia

Falun Dafa practitioners organized a series of activities on May 13 in Indonesia, including an exercise demonstration and parade on Batam Island on May 13^th, in Jakarta, Surabaya City, Malang City, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, and Bali.
