(Minghui.org) A couple of summers ago the leader of our village expanded the road next to my cornfield and took more than an acre without notifying us. All the green cornstalks along the road were destroyed.

The First Corn Harvest

It would have been more reasonable for the road that went through the cornfield to be expanded on both sides, but they didn’t touch the field on the other side because the village leader knew that the owner was difficult to get along with. On the other hand, he knew that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner and would not do anything if they used my field.

After I noticed that they took the acre, I thought, “I am a Dafa disciple and can’t act like everyday people.” However, my son and husband couldn’t accept it and wanted to argue with the village leader. I told them, “We are Dafa practitioners and can’t act like they would. So just let it be.” They decided not to go.

Last year, when it was time to harvest the corn, our production was not reduced at all. On the contrary, we had even more corn than the year before, when we had a bumper crop. It was truly heaven watching over everything! As it's written in Zhuan Falun, “If something is yours, you will not lose it.”

This year, the corn along the road was growing very well, but then the village wanted to expand the road again. The village leader did the same thing as last year and wanted to encroach upon our field again without notifying us.

I went to take a look and found that the area they marked for the road expansion was similar in size to the area they took before. I didn’t feel good, but I thought that because I am a Dafa disciple, I shouldn’t treat things like ordinary people when loss or gain is at stake.

My son couldn’t accept it this time and again wanted to argue with the leader. He protested: “If we lose our field, how can you and Dad make a living?!” But I stopped him from going.

The Second Corn Harvest

Our plight also moved the villagers. One day, I heard a few villagers chatting at the roadside, and they were criticizing the leader's behavior. One of village leader’s relatives had directly said to him, “You can’t keep taking advantage of honest people. They are not like ordinary people. You should not take so much advantage of them; save some virtue for yourself.”

I truly respected those villagers who were righteous. I was happy that they understood that Falun Dafa guides people to be good. I am even more thankful for Master who purified my heart with Dafa. If I didn’t practice Falun Dafa, I would have thought, "Who dares to occupy my land without compensating me?”

Eventually, the village leader decided not to take as much of the field as he originally planned. There was a drought earlier this year, and many people had to plant their fields a second time, however, my cornfield grew in perfect abundance. The villagers saw this, and some of them remarked, “Because they practice Falun Dafa their corn grows so well!”

That day my husband and I went to see the cornfield. On the way there, I saw bright Faluns (law wheels) spinning everywhere over the road, very colorful and magnificent! I kept wiping my eyes, wondering if I had blurred vision. My husband asked why I kept wiping my eyes. So I told him what I saw, and he was happy too. I knew Master was encouraging us!
