(Minghui.org) A retired piano teacher who was sentenced to a three-year prison term for practicing Falun Gong, was admitted to a detention center despite failing to pass the physical health exam.

Mr. Sun Xingli, 68, from Yinshui County, Shandong Province, was given a three-year prison term on May 22, 2018, for not giving up his faith in Falun Gong.

After the detention center refused to accept him due to his poor health, the police managed to force the detention center to take him on July 17.

One month later, the police told Mr. Sun's family to come to the hospital for his physical examination on August 17. His family saw that Mr. Sun was carried by detention center staff from the car to a wheelchair. He was wearing handcuffs and shackles. Judge Li Housheng from Yichui County Court, who sentenced Mr. Sun, was also present.

Mr. Sun's family was made to pay a 2000 yuan examination fee before they were allowed to leave.

Mr. Sun's family said he kept his eyes closed during the entire exam process. They are very worried for his health, as he was still able to ride a motorcycle one month ago, but now is unable to walk.

Mr. Sun was arrested on May 23, 2017 and tried by Yishui County Court on May 3, 2018.
