(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhang Qingshan went out for a walk early in the morning on April 20, 2018. When he still hadn't returned home four hours later, his wife became concerned and went out to look for him.

When she returned home, empty-handed, she was stunned to see that the police had ransacked it. After she discovered that her Falun Gong calendar and window decoration were gone, it was then clear to her that her husband had been arrested because of his faith in Falun Gong.

Fifteen days later, a police officer showed up to tell her that Mr. Zhang was in administrative detention at Liucun Detention Center.

The officer told Ms. Yang Xiurong to sign the detention notice. She refused, saying that her husband was a good person and didn't do anything wrong by practicing Falun Gong. The officer left without attempting to pressure her to sign the document.

After finding out who was responsible for her husband's arrest, Ms. Yang went to the police station several times to demand his release. She then became the target of police harassment herself.

On September 19, 2018, Ms. Yang and the lawyer she hired to represent Mr. Zhang visited him in the detention center. They were surprised when Mr. Zhang told them that he had been tried in the Changping District Court earlier this month but that the judge had not announced a verdict.

Ms. Yang is now seeking legal channels to rescue him.

Prior to his latest arrest, Mr. Zhang, 64, has been sentenced to prison once and sent to forced labor camps three times, for a total of ten years, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the communist regime since 1999.

His wife, Ms. Yang Xiurong, also a Falun Gong practitioner, has been taken to brainwashing centers, put under house arrest, and constantly harassed by the police.
