Additional Persecution News from China – January 7, 2019 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lei Tianyu and Other Practitioners Arrested

Thirteen practitioners in Shengli Village, Guangming Residential Community, Tianpeng Town, were arrested by officers from the Tianpeng Town Police Station on the afternoon of January 4, 2019. Those arrested include Mr. Lei Tianyu, Ms. Fan Xiuzhen, Ms. Tang Yuxian, Mr. Zhang Yonglu, Ms. Luo Youxiu (who has returned home), Ms. Zhang Youqiong, and Ms. Yin Xianju.

2. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Li and Ms. Wu Juan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Li and Ms. Wu Juan were each given a three-and-a-half-year prison term by the Fengcheng City Court on December 27, 2018.

3. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Deyou Taken Into Custody

Mr. Wang Deyou from Junmazhan Village was arrested by officers from the Changguo Town Police Station when he was talking to others about Falun Gong at a farmers market on January 4, 2019. He is being held in the Cangzhou City Detention Center.

4. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Gui'e Taken Into Custody

Ms. Qi Gui'e was arrested at work on January 3, 2019. She is being held in the Liangshan County Detention Center.

Ms. Zhou Youzhen, in her 70s, was arrested when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in the Guanggu area on January 4, 2018. She was placed under criminal detention.

6. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Guixia Taken Into Custody

Ms. Xu Guixia was arrested by officers from the Dawulan Town Police Station on January 2, 2019. She was taken to the Qinglong County Detention Center.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Qu Yanlai's Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Qu Yanlai was arrested by officers from the Dongguang Police Department, Longfeng District, on November 9, 2018. His case was recently turned over to the Ranghulu District Procuratorate.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Held in Dongling Prison

Mr. Qu Lianxi and Ms. Guo Shuchun from Dalian City, Ms. Yin Junlin from Huludao City, and Mr. Qu Luqing from Dengta City are being held in the No. 6 Ward, Dongling Prison.

9. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Mo Yaqin Taken Into Custody

Ms. Mo Yaqin was arrested by officers from the Wulongbei Town Police Station on December 12, 2018. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books. She is being held in the Dandong Detention Center.

10. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Aihua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ma Aihua from Haigang District was arrested by officers from the Zhujiangdao Police Station, Qinhuangdao Development Zone, on July 4, 2018. She was held in a detention center. Her administrative detention was changed to criminal detention on July 18. She was tried by the Haigang Court at the Police Hospital on December 11. She was given a six-month prison term. She returned home on the morning of January 4, 2019.

11. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Yuxiang Arrested

Ms. Hu Yuxiang was arrested on January 3, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Xianju County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Xiao Jinhua Arrested

Ms. Xiao Jinhua from Shangliao Village, Shuangmiao Township, was arrested by local police and 610 Office staff when she was talking to others about Falun Gong in Xiaye Village, Dazhan Township, on May 8, 2018. Her whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Meiying Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Meiying was arrested by the local police on April 7, 2017. She was taken to the Zichuan Detention Center for seven days of detention. The Chongchuan District Court plans to place her on trial.
