(Minghui.org) Taiwan celebrated its National Day on October 10, 2019. This holiday is celebrated on four consecutive days, during which time many people take the opportunity to visit the National Sun-Yat-Sen-Memorial Hall. Falun Dafa practitioners set up displays and held activities there to introduce the ancient spiritual practice to the public.

Tourists from China read information about Falun Dafa displayed at the National Sun-Yat-Sen-Memorial Hall, during Taiwan's National Day.

Tour Groups from China Learn about the Persecution

After touring the memorial hall, tour groups from China gathered at the spot where the practitioners were providing information about Falun Dafa. The tour guide took the opportunity to introduce Taiwan's democratic system. A practitioner standing nearby joined the conversation and said, “Because there is freedom of belief in Taiwan, you can see information on Falun Dafa as well as people doing the exercises in public. Isn't this a sharp contrast to the propaganda in China?” Many tourists nodded their heads in agreement.

Before leaving, one tour guide asked a practitioner for copies of the latest information on Falun Dafa so that he could pass it on to others.

Old Man Quits the CCP

An elderly man who was visiting a relative in Taipei came to the memorial hall and stopped to read the display boards for a long time. He said that although he has been to Taiwan several times, this was the first time he saw information on Falun Dafa. He was shocked after reading the facts. He was at first reluctant to renounce his membership in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). But after a practitioner explained how millions of Chinese have already quit the Party, he decided to give up his ties to communism and quit the CCP.

Taiwan Citizen: “You have great responsibility”

One man said he worked in the travel industry and often sees Falun Dafa practitioners raising awareness about the persecution while he is on business trips overseas. He said that the CCP is truly evil for its merciless killings of tens of millions of Chinese people to fulfill its political ambitions. He said, “You must encourage Chinese visitors to see and listen when they visit Taiwan. You have a great responsibility. Keep up what you are doing.”

Lecturer Plans to Read the Teachings

A university lecturer who teaches China politics in New Zealand and is a Westerner, said to a practitioner, “Yesterday I saw your information booth at the entrance to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. I see you are here again today. Wow! Practitioners seem to be everywhere.” He said he was curious and asked where he could buy the Falun Dafa books. A practitioner told him that Zhuan Falun is the main book of the teachings but he did not have an English version. The lecturer said he could read Chinese and asked where he could buy the book. When the practitioner gave him a copy he held it as if he had received a treasure.

Student: “The Communist Regime is Despicable”

One student carefully read the information describing the brutal persecution faced by practitioners in China and photographed the display. He said that he hadn't previously paid much attention to the communist regime because China seemed so far away. The recent protests in Hong Kong made him realize that what's happening there is too close to home. After he learned the details of the persecution and why the CCP is persecuting Falun Dafa, the young man said, “This is unbelievable. The communist regime is so brutal and has used such despicable means to vilify Falun Dafa!” Before he left he thanked the practitioners. He said that he had taken the first step to understand communism and would do research.
