Additional Persecution News from China – October 25, 2019 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yingzi and Ms. Guo Qinge Arrested

Ms. Wang Yingzi and Ms. Guo Qinge from Bianzhuang Village, Xingjiawan Town, Ren County, were arrested by officers from the Weizhuang Police Station on the morning of October 15, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Guo was released that afternoon. Ms. Wang is being held in the Wei County Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Su Huina Missing

Ms. Su Huina went missing recently.

3. [Xingwen County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Shirong Detained

Ms. Zhao Shirong and her husband were arrested by officers from the Xingwen County 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on September 8, 2019, when they went through the security checkpoint at Xingwen Passenger Station. They had Falun Gong materials in their bags. Their daughter was also arrested. Ms. Zhao’s husband and daughter were released the following day.

Ms. Zhao is being held in the Dayi Detention Center, Yibin City.

4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Xiaohua and Ms. Qi Naihua Taken to Prison

Ms. Yang Xiaohua and Ms. Qi Naihua from Changyi City were arrested by officers from the Changyi Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office on April 24, 2018. They were held in the Weifang City Detention Center.

Ms. Yang was sentenced to a four-year prison term, and Ms. Qi was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Gaomi City Court recently. They were both also fined over 20,000 yuan.

Ms. Yang and Ms. Qi were taken to the Jinan Women's Prison on September 12, 2019.

5. [Ju County, Shandong Province] Elderly Ms. Mi and Ms. Zhou Detained

Elderly Ms. Mi and Ms. Zhou were arrested by plainclothes officers in late September, 2019, when they mailed Falun Gong informational materials. They were detained for 15 days.

6. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Ji Arrested

Ms. Li Ji, in his 50s, was arrested in early September 2019 for distributing Falun Gong materials.

7. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Yingkuan Detained

Mr. Liu Yingkuan from Yanshi City was arrested on August 27, 2019. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Liu is being held in the Yanshi City Detention Center.

8. [Botou City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Held in Custody

Ms. Sun Yaping and her non-practitioner husband were arrested on the morning of October 23, 2019, by officers from the Botou City 110 Response Unit who collaborated with the Zhejiang police.

Ms. Zhang Jing and her husband were also arrested on October 23. Their home were ransacked.

Ms. Sun is being held in the Hedong Police Station, and Ms. Zhang is being held in the Botou City Police Department. Their husbands were released.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Haiyan Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Haiyan was arrested on September 11, 2019. She was held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center, before being transferred to a brainwashing center on October 11.

10. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Li Yuanyou Tried the Second Time

Mr. Li Yuanyou, 62, was arrested on September 2, 2018, when he was distributing Falun Gong materials on Qingyun Road. He was tried in the Nanming District Court on June 13, 2019. He was tried for the second time on October 25.

11. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Officially Arrested

Cases of Ms. Zhang Guiyun, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, and Ms. Chen Shoumei have been turned over to the Tonghe County Procuratorate. They have also been officially placed under arrest.

Ms. Zhang Xiuying was previously sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Chen was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2011.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hou Shuang Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Hou Shuang, 81, from Beijing, was sentenced to prison by the Kuancheng District Court, Changchun City, Jilin Province on October 24, 2019. She has appealed, and is being held in the Illness Ward, Public Security Section, Changchun Central Hospital.

13. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Su Liyun Detained

Ms. Su Liyun, in her 40s, was arrested by Wang Peng, head of the Development Zone Domestic Security Division, on October 17, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials. The police ransacked her home and confiscated copies of Minghui Weekly.

Ms. Su was taken to the Xindi Detention Center.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Bi Tiecheng Arrested

Mr. Bi Tiecheng was arrested on August 20, 2019, and was held in custody for 48 hours. He was released after failing the physical exam. He was again arrested a few days later by officers from the Erdao District Domestic Security Division and Balipu Police Station. He was taken to Changchun City Hospital, and has not been allowed family visits.

Mr. Bi has been officially placed under arrest, and his case has been turned over to the Erdao Court.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Gaorong Arrested

Ms. Zhao Gaorong, 71, was arrested on the morning of September 23, 2019, when she was shopping at Dongxihu Market. She was taken to the Hongshan Police Department, and interrogated. The police ransacked her home and confiscated over 1,000 yuan in cash and other personal belongings.

Ms. Zhao was mistreated in the police department, was unable to stand on her right foot. She was released later that evening.

Ms. Zhang Lianrui is being held in the Beilin Detention Center.
