Additional Persecution News from China – March 1, 2019 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhong Xiumei Held in Custody
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Jianhai Incarcerated in Prison
3. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Yuhua Arrested
4. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Guizhi Taken to Prison

8. [Cang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Zhenwei and His Wife Ms. Pang Huixia Detained

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhong Xiumei Held in Custody

Ms. Zhong Xiumei, from Haixin Street in the Dongzhou District, was arrested on the morning of February 27, 2019, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Xintun Farmers' Market. She is being held in Xintun Police Station.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Jianhai Incarcerated in Prison

Mr. Han Jianhai is incarcerated in the Dongling Prison, Shenyang City.

3. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Yuhua Arrested

Five plainclothes officers from the Dafangshen Town Police Station broke into Ms. Pan Yuhua's home in the No. 3 Group, Xihuaji Village on the morning of February 28, 2019, and arrested her. They confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

4. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Guizhi Taken to Prison

Ms. Wu Guizhi, in her seventies, was recently arrested by officers from the Longquan Township Police Station. She was taken to the Bayan County Police Department after the Chinese Lantern Festival (on February 19, 2019), and was later taken to a prison.

5. [Shanghai] Mr. Xu Yongqing Incarcerated in Prison

Mr. Xu Yongqing is incarcerated in the No. 2 Ward of Hongzehu Prison.

6. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Chang Guangjun Transferred to Hulan Prison

Mr. Chang Guangjun was arrested by officers from the Lishu Police Station on February 8, 2018. He was tried and sentenced to two years in prison by the Jidong County Court in August 2018.

Mr. Chang was taken to the Jixi Prison, and was later transferred to Hulan Prison.

7. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xue Ping was arrested by two officers from the Erdao Township Police Station on February 28, 2019, while he was buying fruit at the Erdao Farmers' Market in the Fengman District. His whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Liu Yujie was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was detained for ten days.

Ms. Qin Xiuzhi and Ms. Qin Guohua were held for ten days, before being taken away by officers from the Changchunlu Police Station. They were supposed to be released on the morning of February 27, 2019, but their whereabouts remain unknown.

8. [Cang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Zhenwei and His Wife Ms. Pang Huixia Detained

Mr. Zhang Zhenwei and his wife Ms. Pang Huixia from Chenwei Village, Daguanting Township, were arrested around the New Year. Their home was ransacked.

The couple is being held in the Cangzhou Detention Center.
