(Minghui.org) Four Falun Gong practitioners in Huainan City, Anhui Province were either sentenced to prison or detained in the past few months. They include, Mr. Pan Feng, sentenced to seven years in prison; Ms. Li Chunhua, sentenced to one year in prison; Mr. Ji Huijun, arrested at a train station and awaiting trial; and Mr. Zhu Yongming, still detained in the Huainan City Detention Center.
Mr. Pan Feng, 39 years old, was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Qianfengyi Village where he lived in April 2018. He was arrested and detained in the Huainan City Detention Center after someone reported him. He was later sentenced to seven years in prison. He is now held in the Suzhou Prison in Anhui Province. He had been sentenced twice before and imprisoned for nearly ten years.
Ms. Li Chunhua, over 70 years old, was reported while she was talking to people about Falun Gong at a market in the Panji District in Huainan City. She was arrested and released. The Procuratorate later indicted her. The detention center refused to admit her because her blood pressure was too high. The court tried her and sentenced her to one year in prison in January 2019. She was paroled due to her physical condition.
Mr. Ji Huijun, 57 years old, was arrested at the Huainan East Train Station when he was returning home. The agents seized his Falun Gong-related books and materials, cell phone, and computer. They detained him in the Huainan City Detention Center. They tried to transfer him to a detention center, but he was found to have high blood pressure and cirrhosis. The detention center refused to admit him, and he was released on bail.
Mr. Ji had previously been sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was tortured severely. The guards punched him with a barbed wire glove and also beat him to the point of breaking his ribs.
Mr. Zhu Yongming, about 50 years old, is from Caijiagang Town in Huainan City. He was arrested in May 2018 for having lists of people who quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliates. He has been held in the Huainan Detention Center.
