(Minghui.org) Three years after an elderly woman was released following an arrest for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong, she was arrested again and put on trial at the police station on the same day.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Liu Zhourong, a resident of Huaihua City, Hunan Province, was arrested on August 20, 2015, while distributing Falun Gong flyers with three other practitioners in Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City (about 200 miles from Huaihua).

Ms. Liu, who was 76 back then, was let go after being kept at a brainwashing center for 16 days, although the police frequently harassed her afterward.

The other three practitioners remained in custody. They appeared in Yongding District Court on April 12, 2016, and were convicted days later: Mr. Li Baoxing was sentenced to 4 years, Ms. Deng Yue'e was given 3.5 years and Ms. Jin Fuwan 3 years.

Three years after the case was closed, the authorities changed their mind and targeted Ms. Liu again.

She was harassed by six officers at home on the morning of March 16, 2019. The officers stayed at her home for more than an hour and then left.

When Ms. Liu went out in the afternoon, she was deceived by one of the officers who had been waiting outside of her home into getting into the police car.

She was then taken to Xizhan Police Station. The judge and prosecutor from the Yongding District in Zhangjiajie City arrived hours later to hold a secret trial of Ms. Liu. She was convicted and fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Liu denied all the charges against her and vowed to appeal the verdict. She was then released and returned home around 11 p.m.
