(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Mingxia Taken to Prison

Ms. Li Mingxia was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and 610 Office for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong. She was tried by the Fangzi District Court in Weifang City on March 9, 2018.

Ms. Li had a second hearing on July 31 and was sentenced to two years in prison. She appealed, but the Weifang Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict in December 2018. She was also forced to pay 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Li was taken to Jinan Women's Prison in Shandong Province late January 2019.

2. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Ping and Ms. Xie Yunlan's Homes Ransacked

Ms. Tang Ping had her home ransacked by four or five officers from the Xicheng District Police Department on February 21, 2019. They confiscated Falun Gong books and music boxes. The police ransacked Ms. Xie Yunlan's home and confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.

3. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Ma Shuhua, Ms. Ma Yingquan, and Ms. Zhang Yuexian from the Xing'an District were harassed by the police on February 14, 2019. Ms. Zhang's home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated. Ms. Zhang was arrested but was released that evening.

Officers ransacked Ms. Wang Liguo's home the following day.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shan Qinshu Detained

Ms. Shan Qinshu was arrested by officers from the Sujiatun District Domestic Security Division and Huxi Police Station. Her case was referred to the Sujiatun Procuratorate, but it was returned due to a lack of evidence.

Song Zhenhe, deputy director of the Sujiatun District Domestic Security Division, continued to collect evidence to frame Ms. Shan.

Ms. Shen is being held in the Shenyang No.1 Detention Center.

5. [Shanghai] Mr. Zhou Xianwen Arrested

Mr. Zhou Xianwen was arrested by officers from the Liuli Police Station in the Pudongxin District on February 22, 2019.

6. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shen Huiding Detained

Ms. Shen Huiding, in her 70s, from the Gongshu District, was arrested at home by three police officers on January 17, 2019. They confiscated computers and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Shen is being held in a detention center.

7. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Qiong and Ms. Ma Shijun Held in Custody

Ms. Wang Qiong and Ms. Ma Shijun, both from the Shashi District, were arrested by officers from Haoxue Town in Jiangling County on August 12, 2018. The police sent their cases to the Procuratorate twice, but they were rejected due to insufficient evidence.

Ms. Wang and Ms. Ma are still being held in custody.
