Additional Persecution News from China – August 7, 2019 (Part II, 11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 5 provinces，where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shao Jingzhi Detained

Ms. Shao Jingzhi from Kuancheng District was arrested in the Changchun Train Station waiting hall on June 6, 2019. The police searched her person and her bag, and confiscated recent articles written by the founder of Falun Dafa. Ms. Shao was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 10 days.

Ms. Shao was arrested at home by Cui Yongnian, from the Kuancheng District Domestic Security Division, and Pan as well as other officers from the Lanjia Police Station on the morning of July 19, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, Falun Dafa books, pendants, and a Minghui Weekly. Ms. Shao has been held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

2. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Hongying Detained; Ms. Song Pingxiu Harassed

Ms. Yu Hongying was arrested at home by officers from the Xichang City Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 19, 2019. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Yu was taken to the Xiaomiao Detention Center.

The police ransacked Ms. Song Pingxiu’s home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and a cell phone on July 19, 2019.

3. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gou Zhengqun Detained

Ms. Gou Zhengqun from Texing Town, Longmatan District, was arrested by officers from the Zhaoya Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on August 2, 2019. It was reported that she was to be detained for 15 days.

4. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yongxin Arrested

Mr. Li Yongxin was arrested on the afternoon of August 4, 2019.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Pu Songling, head of the Changyi City Police Department 610 Office, Liu Chang’en, subdivision head of the Domestic Security Division, and twelve officers from the Yinma Town Police Station broke into Ms. Li Meiyu’s home and arrested her at noon on August 6, 2019. The officers confiscated personal belongings worth about 10,000 yuan. Ms. Li was held in the police station that afternoon.

Ms. Ji Xiuzhen, from Jijia Village, Buzhuang Town, Ms. Xu Ceng, from Tiejiangjia Village, and Ms. Ren Qinghua, from Dayan Village, were held in the Xiaying Police Station for one day. The police ransacked their homes around midnight and confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and music players.

6. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuqin Arrested

Officers from the Shunwang Neighborhood Police Station went to Ms. Wang Xiuqin’s home in Hongxingyuan Residential Community at noon on August 5, 2019. They videotaped while they ransacked her home. Ms. Wang was arrested.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Furong and Ms. Song Arrested

Ms. Li Furong, 78, and Ms. Song, 69, from Qingdao Development Zone, were arrested by officers from the Lingshanwei Town Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of August 6, 2019. Five officers ransacked Ms. Li’s home that afternoon, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

8. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Guifen Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Lu Guifen was arrested by officers from the Laishui Town Police Station on August 5, 2019. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tian Yuping Detained

Ms. Tian Yuping from Qianxi County was arrested by officers from the Qianxi County Domestic Security Division on her way home on July 13, 2019. She was taken to the Qianxi County Detention Center for 10 days. She returned home after approximately seven days of detention.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuhua Placed in Criminal Detention

Ms. Li Yuhua from Heping District and her daughter were arrested by officers from the No. 5 Criminal Investigation Team, Heping District Police Department, and the Heping District Domestic Security Division on July 10, 2019. Their home was ransacked. They were held in a large iron cage in the Nanhu Police Station. The daughter was later released. Ms. Li was placed in criminal detention.
