(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 27 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 47 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Li Shuang Detained; Her Father Mr. Li Guolin Arrested

Ms. Li Shuang, 28, from Nanqiulan Village, Mingyi Township, Laishui County, Hebei Province, was arrested in Beijing on August 11, 2019. The police ransacked her home the following day. She is being held in the Xicheng District Detention Center.

Her father Mr. Li Guolin and their relative Mr. Dong Zhaoxing went to the Fuwaidajie Police Station in Xicheng to request the return of items that were confiscated by the police. Mr. Li was then arrested.

2. [Beijing] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ye Linlin, Ms. Liu Zixuan, Ms. Jiang Shan, and another practitioner, all born after 1990, from the Haidian District, were arrested by officers from the Xisanqi Police Station on the evening of August 7, 2019. They were taken to the Haidian Detention Center on August 9. Police ransacked their rented place and confiscated Falun Dafa books, cell phones, computers, and printers.

Mr. Xu Jun from the Dongcheng District was reported to the police when he was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of August 18. He was arrested by officers from the Datun Police Station in the Chaoyang District. The officers searched his bag, and then ransacked his home, confiscating Falun Dafa books and materials. Mr. Xu was taken to the Chaoyang Case Handling Center that afternoon. He was found to have high blood pressure, and was sent home early the next morning.

3. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Guixian and Ms. Liu Dongying Detained

Ms. Liu Dongying and Ms. Cui Guixian from Daling Town were held in a lockup center, and were transferred to a detention center on August 26 and August 27, 2019, respectively. Their family has not been allowed to visit them.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Three practitioners were tried by the Kuancheng District Court on August 21, 2019. Ms. Yong Xian was sentenced to a three-year-and-four-month prison term, Ms. Li Guiqin was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term, and Mr. Lin Xianchen was sentenced to a five-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Yong, Ms. Li and Mr. Lin were held in the Jiutai Detention Center for over a year. Ms. Yong was taken to the Changchun Women's Prison. Ms. Li was taken back to the Jiutai Detention Center.

5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Hongshuai Officially Arrested; Ms. Li Yulan Arrested

Mr. Li Hongshuai, 67, from Zaozhuang City, lives at his son’s home in Jinan City. Mr. Li was arrested by officers from the Zhijinshi Police Station in the Tianqiao District, Jinan City in June 2019, for using paper currency with information about Falun Gong printed on them. He was put on criminal detention on June 25, and was officially placed under arrest by the Tianqiao Procuratorate on August 1. He is being held in the Jinan Detention Center.

Ms. Li Yulan was recently arrested.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Elderly Ms. Li Xiuzhen Detained

Elderly Ms. Li Xiuzhen from the Fangzi District was reported to the police when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Heng’an Police Station on the afternoon of August 23, 2019, and is being held in the Weifang City Detention Center.

7. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhaohua from Songshan Township was arrested by officers from the Songshan Police Station on August 23, 2019. He is being held in the Linqu County Detention Center.

Officers from the Longgang Town Police Station went to Mr. Hao Yuanzheng’s home and harassed him in mid-August. Mr. Hao was not home at the time. His family member was taken to the police station and held there for a day.

Officers from the Dongcheng Police Station broke into Ms. Chen Guizhi’s home in Jiajiazhuang Village, Qixia Town. They tricked her into going to the police station. She was held there for ten hours, before being released.

8. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yue Xiuhua and Ms. Tan Suxiang Arrested

Ms. Yue Xiuhua and Ms. Tan Suxiang from Beimeng Town were arrested by officers from the Kangzhuang Police Station on July 18, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Caijiazhuang Farmers' Market.

Ms. Tan was released on bail later that day. Ms. Yue was released on bail on July 19.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Taimin and Her Husband Mr. Zheng Jinwen Officially Arrested

Ms. Li Taimin and her husband Mr. Zheng Jinwen from the No. 8 Farm in the Caofeidian District were arrested. They have been held in custody for over a month, and were officially placed under arrest on August 24, 2019.

Ms. Li is being held in the Caofeidian Detention center. Mr. Zheng is being held in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.

10. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Fengzhi’s Home Ransacked

Eight or nine officers from the Chengzhen Police Station in the Xiahuayuan District pried opened the door of Ms. Wang Fengzhi’s home and ransacked it on the morning of August 26, 2019. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, materials, and cell phones.

11. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. He Yaping Detained

Ms. He Yaping was arrested at the Chengde City Post Office by three plainclothes officers on the afternoon of August 6, 2019, who were staked out there when she was mailing Falun Gong informational materials. Her home was ransacked, and a computer, Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and USB flash drives were confiscated.

Ms. He was detained for seven days.

12. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Geng Jinmei Arrested

Ms. Geng Jinmei was reported to the police for distributing information about Falun Gong. She was arrested on the morning of August 26, 2019. The officers ransacked her home that afternoon.

Ms. Geng is being held in the Songmen Police Station in the Shunhe District.

13. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Pu Tingrong Detained

Ms. Pu Tingrong from the Honghuagang District was arrested around August 8, 2019, for distributing information about Falun Gong. She was detained for ten days, and has since returned home.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Cao Yezhu Arrested

Mr. Cao Yezhu from the Xiangfang District was arrested on August 12, 2019, during check-in at the Hadong Railway Station when he was found to be carrying a manual transcription of the Falun Gong lectures. The officers took Mr. Cao to the Dongzhan Police Station. They interrogated him, and forced him to sign their paperwork. He was later released.

More than a dozen officers went to Mr. Cao's home and ransacked it around midnight. Mr. Cao was taken back to the police station, where he was forced to write a guarantee statement not to practice Falun Gong. He returned home on August 13.

15. [Dunhuang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Runhua Passes Away as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Li Runhua was arrested at the Liuyuan Train Station by the Hami Railway police on June 25, 2019. She was taken back to Dunhuang City. Wang Shuguo, head of the Dunhuang Domestic Security Division, and other officers ransacked Ms. Li’s home,. They confiscated a computer and Falun Dafa books.

The police took Ms. Li to the hospital for an examination. She failed the exam due to her poor health, and was allowed to return home. After enduring constant threats and intimidation by the police, she passed away on July 16.

16. [Shanghai] Homes of Mr. Zhao Jiye and Mr. Yang Quan Ransacked

Mr. Zhao Jiye and Mr. Yang Quan were reported to the authorities on August 25, 2019, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Plainclothes officers broke into the two practitioners’ homes and ransacked them the next morning. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, computers, and calendars.

17. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Mi Chao and Ms. Song Xiaohua’s Original Verdicts Upheld

Mr. Mi Chao and Ms. Song Xiaohua were arrested and sentenced to prison. They appealed, and a second trial was held on the morning of July 31, 2019, by the Xilingol League Intermediate Court. A few days later, the court secretly announced that the two practitioners’ original verdicts were upheld.

Mr. Mi was given a six-month prison term, and remains in the Xilinhot City Detention Center. Ms. Song was given a three-year prison term, and was secretly taken to the Hohhot Women's Prison.

18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Bi Tiecheng Missing

Mr. Bi Tiecheng has recently been missing. His whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Zhanghua Arrested

Ms. Chen Zhanghua was arrested on the morning of August 6, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Jiujiang Town Police Station in the Shuangliu District, and released later that day.

20. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tang Yanping Arrested

Ms. Tang Yanping was arrested by officers from the Jiahe Police Station in the Chuanshan District for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.

21. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Shuping, Ms. Gao Yanhong, and Ms. Xu Qiufen, from the Jinghai District, were arrested in the Wuqing District on August 27, 2019.

22. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ning and Ms. Duan Arrested

Ms. Li Ning, about 30, and Ms. Duan, in her 50s, were arrested by officers from the Rencheng District Domestic Security Division around August 24, 2019.

23. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Hongxiang Detained

Four officers from the Xiguan Police Station went to Ms. Li Hongxiang’s home and arrested her on the evening of August 7, 2019. She was taken to a hospital for a physical exam the following day, and was beaten because she did not willingly submit to an examination.

Ms. Li was dragged to the Weifang City Hospital again that afternoon, but failed the physical. She was taken to the Weifang Detention Center.

Ms. Li was taken back to the police station on the afternoon of August 11 where she had her fingerprints forcibly taken, and was forced to sign their paperwork. She was later released.

24. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Zonglan’s Home Ransacked

The Muping District police broke in to Ms. Li Zonglan's home on the evening of August 27, 2019, and ransacked it.

Ms. Li, nearly 70, lives in Muli Village in the Ninghai Neighborhood.

25. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Ruilian Arrested

Ms. Liu Ruilian from Nanxinying Village, Dage Town, was arrested by Zhang Pengfei, head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers on August 28, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and a printer confiscated.

26. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Guilan Arrested

Ms. Xu Guilan, in her 60s, from the Erbu Residential Community, Huabei Oilfield, was arrested by Han Yan, head of the Bohai Domestic Security Division, and three others on the morning of August 28, 2019. The officers confiscated her Falun Dafa books.

When Ms. Xu’s son went to the Bohai Police Department to visit his mother, he was told that he could not see her.

27. [Yanshi City, Henan Province] Ms. Qu Chunxia Secretly Taken to Prison

Ms. Qu Chunxia was secretly taken to the Xinxiang Prison in March or April 2019.

28. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hou Lihuan Detained

Ms. Hou Lihuan, 66, was arrested by the railway police at the Sujiatun Railway Station, Shenyang City, on the afternoon of August 27, 2019. She is being held in the Shenyang City No. 2 Detention Center for ten days.

29. [Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Geng Chunping Detained

Ms. Geng Chunping is being held in the Yongkou Detention Center.
