(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 56 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Shuang was arrested by officers from the Fuwai Police Station on the afternoon of August 11, 2019. Mr. Yan Yong (Ms. Li’s employer) and his wife Ms. Yue Liyong were also arrested. Mr. Yan’s company was ransacked.

Elderly Ms. Liu Chun’ai was arrested on the evening of August 26.

The four practitioners are being held in the Xicheng District Detention Center.

Ms. Li’s father, Mr. Li Guolin, and their relative Mr. Dong Zhaoxing went to the Fuwai Police Station to pick up the items that were confiscated by the police. Mr. Li Guolin was arrested.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Bai Jinxiu Arrested

Ms. Bai Jinxiu, about 56 years old, from the Shuangqiao area in the Chaoyang District, was arrested by officers from the Heizhuanghu Police Station on the afternoon of August 30, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and a notebook computer, printer, and about 300 yuan in paper bills with information about Falun Gong printed on them were confiscated.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yunxiang Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhu Yunxiang was tried by the Jing’an District Court on August 6, 2019. She was sentenced to a 19-month prison term.

4. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Yuexia and Ms. Wang Yuping Officially Arrested

Ms. Wu Yuexia and Ms. Wang Yuping were arrested by officers from the Lixin Police Station on June 19, 2019. They were taken to the Shuangyashan City Detention Center, and were officially placed under arrest on July 26.

5. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Junling Arrested

Ms. Zhang Junling, in her 60s, was recently arrested by the local police.

6. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Niu Yongzhou and his wife Ms. Yu Zhen from Yayuan Town were arrested by officers from the Tiechang Town Police Station on August 28, 2019. Their home was ransacked, and Falun Dafa books, a printer, computer, and cell phones were confiscated. Mr. Niu was released on bail after he failed the physical exam. Ms. Yu was taken to the Changliu Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Jianhua and her husband from Tiechang were arrested at a train station on their way to Ji’an to visit relatives on August 28. The couple were taken to the Ji’an Train Station Police Station.

7. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Jingxia and Ms. Wang Guifang Taken to Prison

Ms. Wang Jingxia and Ms. Wang Guifang were arrested by officers from the Changlong Township Police Station in Qianguo County, Songyuan City, on January 15, 2019, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Qianguo Detention Center, and transferred to the Shanyou Town Detention Center in the Jiangning District, Songyuan on January 29.

Both practitioners were tried by the Qianguo Court on June 28, and were sentenced on July 9. Ms. Wang Jingxia was given a three-year prison term. Ms. Wang Guifang was given a four-year prison term. They were also fined 10,000 yuan each.

Ms. Wang Jingxia and Ms. Wang Guifang were taken to the Jilin Province Women's Prison on July 23.

8. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Jinsheng Detained

Mr. Liu Jinsheng from the Jiangyuan District was arrested by officers from the Zhengcha Police Station on the morning of August 27, 2019. His home was ransacked. He is being held in the Baishan City Detention Center.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xie Huixian Officially Arrested

Ms. Xie Huixian was arrested on July 10, 2019. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center, and officially placed under arrest by the Lushun Police Department.

10. [Raoyang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Zhongshen Detained

Ms. Yang Zhongshen was arrested at the Raoyang Farmers' Market by officers from the Tongyue Township Police Station on the morning of August 28, 2019. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Yang was taken to the Hengshui City Detention Center.

11. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Hailing Detained

Ms. Xu Hailing from the Huancui District was arrested on the afternoon of August 30, 2019. She was taken to the Weihai City Detention Center.

12. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Chuanfang Arrested

Mr. Li Chuanfang from the Shengshixinyuan Residential Community in the Luozhuang District was arrested at home on the afternoon of August 29, 2019.

13. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Bingyu Detained

Ms. Chen Bingyu was arrested in the No. 904 Hospital on August 6, 2019, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She is being held in a detention center.

14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Hao Detained

Mr. Wang Hao was arrested in Lichuan City by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station on August 29, 2019. He is being held in the Lichuan Detention Center.

15. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Yongmei Arrested

Ms. Liu Yongmei was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 29, 2019. She was arrested by officers from the Gulou Police Station.

16. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Shao Lian Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Shao Lian, 76, from the Shashi District, was arrested by a group of plainclothes officers on the morning of August 28, 2019. A computer and Falun Dafa books were confiscated. His whereabouts are unknown.

17. [Changning City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested; Blood Forcibly Withdrawn

Ms. Duan Xianglian and two other practitioners from Leiyang City were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Yangtian Town Farmers' Market on August 25, 2019. They were arrested by officers from the Yangtian Police Station.

The three practitioners were taken to the Changning City Police Department’s 610 Office, where they forcibly had their blood withdrawn, fingerprints taken, underwent a physical exam.

Ms. Duan was detained for five days. The other two practitioners were released.

18. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Ms. Peng Caihong Arrested

Ms. Peng Caihong was helping to look after her daughter's child in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, in 2015. She was arrested by the Xiamen police for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She became displaced as a result.

Ms. Peng returned to her hometown in Qidong County, Hunan Province, on August 19, 2019, and was arrested by officers who were staked out near her home. She was taken to the Jialian Police Station in the Siming District, Xiamen.

19. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Tang Yanping Arrested

Mr. Tang Yanping, 61, was arrested at the Chuanzhong Market in the Beimen area by officers from the Jiulian Street Police Station on the morning of August 28, 2019.

20. [Dazhu County, Sichuan Province] Twenty Six Practitioners Arrested; Six Remain in Custody

Twenty six practitioners were arrested on July 27, 2019. Twenty of them were later released.

Mr. Wang Haiqian, Mr. Deng Mingzhi, Ms. He Dacui, Ms. Zheng Zhongfen, Ms. Jiang Jiemin, and Ms. Lu Min remain in custody.
