(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. He Wen on Trial

Ms. He Wen, 70, was tried by the Dongcheng District Court in Beijing on the morning of August 30, 2019.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liang Suzhen Detained

Ms. Liang Suzhen from Pingdu City, Qingdao City, was followed and arrested on August 28, 2019, when she mailed letters about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Chengguan Police Station, and later transferred to the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo City, Qingdao.

3. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Li and Ms. Li Ling Detained

Ms. Jiang Li and Ms. Li Ling from Beijingzi Town, Donggang City, Dandong City, were arrested by officers from the Beijingzi Police Station on September 1, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Tangchi Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Du Wanlan Arrested

Ms. Du Wanlan, 70, from the Miyun District, was arrested at home on the morning of August 27, 2019.

5. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Xueyan Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Jiang Xueyan was arrested by officers from the Huashu Police Station on August 31, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested; Two of Their Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Yingchun, in her 80's, Ms. Bai Jinxiu, in her 50s, and Ms. Han, a teacher, all from the Chaoyang District, were arrested by officers from the Heizhuanghu Township Police Station on the morning of August 30, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Daludian Village, Heizhuanghu. Police ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Zhang was later released. Ms. Bai and Ms. Han's whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wu Yanlan and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Wu Yanlan and her husband were arrested by officers from the Tongliao City Domestic Security Division, the Tienan Police Station, and the Railroad Police Department on August 26, 2019. Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Ms. Wu and her husband were held in the Yuxin Detention Center for 5 days.

8. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Han Xu’s Case Sent to Procuratorate

Mr. Han Xu was arrested by officer Su Xiaolei, from the Chengguan Police Department, and Cai Shudong, deputy director of the Jiaojiawan Police Station, on May 29, 2019.

His case was sent to the Chengguan Procuratorate on August 23.

9. [Shanghai] Mr. Zhao Jiye and Mr. Yang Quan Detained

Mr. Zhao Jiye and Mr. Yang Quan were arrested on August 25, 2019. They were taken to the Pudong District First Detention Center on September 3.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lin Jun Arrested

Mr. Lin Jun from the Xigang District was arrested in Zhaoweizi, Gaodian Village, Wafangdian City on the afternoon of August 30, 2019.

11. [Huaying City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Yuanling Facing Trial

Ms. Luo Yuanling was arrested on June 4, 2019, for distributing information about Falun Gong. She has been held in the Guangan Detention Center since then.

Ms. Luo is due to be tried by the Huaying City Court on September 11.

12. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Ma Lijie Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Ma Lijie was arrested at work by officers from the Anshun Development Zone Police Department on September 2, 2019. Her computer, printer, and other personal belongings were confiscated. Her whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Shangqiu City, Henan Province] Mr. Ba Wei Arrested

Mr. Ba Wei, 50, was arrested by officers from the Pingyuan Police Station in late August, 2019.

14. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Updates on Ms. Zhang Yaqin and Ms. Guo Mingqing

Ms. Zhang Yaqin was sentenced to a three-year prison term, and was taken to the Hunan Province Women’s Prison on August 13, 2019. She was tortured, deprived of food and sleep, and forced to stay in the cold in the prison.

Ms. Guo Mingqint was arrested. Her case has been passed to the Yuetang District Procuratorate.

15. [Guidong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Guo Changcai Arrested

Mr. Guo Changcai from Pule Town was arrested by agents from the Guidong County government and officers from the Shatian Town Police Station on the morning of August 28, 2019. His Falun Gong books, Falun Gong discs, and other personal belongings were confiscated. He was released the following afternoon.

16. [Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region] Ms. Liu Zexuan Detained

Ms. Liu Zexuan was arrested by officers from the Guilin City Police Department and the Nanmen Police Station on August 20, 2019. She was taken to the Guilin Second Detention Center, and has since returned home.

17. [Pengxi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Duan Zhenqiong and Ms. Chen Xiufang Arrested

Ms. Duan Zhenqiong, 75, and Ms. Chen Xiufang, 55, from Chicheng Town were arrested by officers from the Yuquan Police Station on August 19, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at a market. Their Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated.

18. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xia Chenggui Taken to Prison

Mr. Xia Chenggui, an elementary school teacher, was sentenced to a four-and-a-half-year prison term by the Hejiang Court and the Luzhuo City Intermediate Court in August 2019. He was taken to the Jiazhou Prison in Sichuan Province.

With his wife, Ms. Liu Xiaolin, also imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Xia’s parents are struggling to raise their grandson with the meager income they make from selling home-made tofu.

19. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Na Limei Sentenced

Ms. Na Limei, 68, was sentenced to a one-year prison term and fined 3,000 yuan by the Harbin Railroad Transportation Court on August 12, 2019.

Her lawyer appealed to the Harbin Railroad Transportation Intermediate Court on September 3.

20. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shao Changhua Sentenced to Three-And-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Shao Changhua was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term on May 30, 2019, by the Zhen’an District Court, following two hearings on April 11 and May 19.

She was taken to the Liaoning Women’s Prison on August 27.
