(Minghui.org) When my mom and sister were forced to live away from home to avoid being arrested or harassed for practicing Falun Dafa, my cousin sheltered them and helped them resettle.

My cousin, the second son of my mom’s only sibling, takes great care of them, as if they were his own mother and sister. And so does his wife and son, who know how wonderful Falun Dafa is and how terrible the persecution is.

Much has happened during the past 20 years since the persecution started in 1999. My cousin remains supportive and has been blessed for his sense of justice and good heart.

Taking Care of My Mother When My Sister Was Detained

My sister was given two years of forced labor for her faith. At the time, my mother was over 70 and was not only left to live on her own but she also had to travel alone to the labor camp to see my sister.

After my cousin learned about her situation, he called my mother and rode the train to visit her every month. He helped solve almost all of her day-to-day problems at home. To this day, although my sister lives with my mother, he still comes to see my mother every month.

Years later, my sister was arrested again and sentenced to prison. My mother was over 80 by then. Because I lived far away, I could only visit my mother once a year. But my cousin went to see my mother often.

When her eyesight started to deteriorate and her memory was getting worse, my cousin printed reminders in large size fonts and posted them around her home. For example, a note on the door said, “Remember to take your keys before you leave the house.”

Prior to my sister's sentencing, she appeared in court four times. Each time my cousin’s whole family showed up to support her.

Accompanying My Mother to Rescue Me

My mother and my sister live in northeastern China, while I live in the south.

When I was also arrested for exposing the persecution of Falun Dafa, my cousin flew with my 85-year-old mother back and forth several times between his home and the detention center where I was held. He bravely confronted the police for torturing me.

When he saw me in court in shackles, he became angry and protested to the court, “What kind of crime did my cousin commit that he has to wear shackles?”

My cousin has helped not only my family but also other Falun Dafa practitioners. He once saw that some people were about to report a senior practitioner to the police for talking to them about the persecution. He intervened and called a taxi to take the practitioner away.

With his help, that practitioner was able to get home safely. Her son-in-law later found him and went to his home with gifts to thank him.

My cousin often talked to his colleagues about Falun Dafa and urged them to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.

Whole Family Blessed

My mother often says that my cousin must have a special connection with our family. His whole family is always so kind to us.

Because of his family’s good hearts, they are blessed. My cousin used to be in the poorest health of all his siblings, but now he is the strongest and healthiest one. Although he is over 60, he works like a young man full of energy.

His son graduated from a technical school, and, although it is rare for someone from his school to get a job right after graduation, his entire class was recruited to a large state-owned enterprise, and he became a permanent employee. Such a stellar job placement had never happened before and has not happened since.

My cousin’s living situation improved, too. He originally lived in a very old building that seemed like it would collapse at any moment. A few years ago, he found and purchased a bright and spacious apartment in a new building priced way below the average market value.

My cousin’s wife is very intelligent, nice, and kind, especially to seniors. Now she is helping taking care of her grandson and enjoying life.

A few days ago, I went back to northeastern China to see my mother. My cousin was concerned about my safety and repeatedly told my mother to call him when I arrived. It was 3 a.m. when I arrived and my cousin was waiting for her call.

That is my cousin. I couldn’t respect him more or be more grateful for him.
