“People Whose Bodies Are in the Secular World but Whose Minds Are Beyond It” – My Understandings after Reading “To The Fa Conference in Taiwan”

(Minghui.org) I have been sharing news from righteous news media about election fraud and public hearings on my Facebook account since mid-November. My purpose is to encourage the “silent majority” to continue to have hope.

However, I felt my efforts didn't have the expected result, as a lot of people are indifferent or believe in the leftist media and ignore any reports that contradict their beliefs. I developed an attachment to competitiveness and tried to persuade others and validate myself in the process. I was worried for the people being fooled by lies.

Master said in his new scripture, “To the Fa Conference in Taiwan,”

“When clarifying the truth, do not place yourselves among ordinary people, and only when you position yourselves well will you not get swept into the chaos, and only then will you do a better job.” (“To the Fa Conference in Taiwan,” Team Blue Translation)

I felt this passage was directed at me. After reading this many times and combining it with other lectures, I came to understand that Master was talking about a position beyond the secular world. If I were excitedly competing and fighting among ordinary people, I would be the same as any person who protests with a political pursuit. But, if I didn't do anything, it would become a moral and xinxing issue because it is a question of principle.

Master's law body guided me to read the teachings regarding subordinate souls.

Master said,

“The subordinate souls (fu yuanshen) were not inside the Three Realms, though they were in the vicinity of the Three Realms. It's akin to my standing in the vicinity of that table, but not having gone into the table. That is why the subordinate soul could succeed at cultivation and return to the heavens.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. VIII)

As practitioners, we are supposed to “[transcend] the five elements and the Three Realms,” so the requirement to us should be “People whose bodies are in the secular world but whose minds are beyond it.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. V)

I came to an understanding that the subordinate soul is not inside the Three Realms, so it is not a life composed of materials inside the Three Realms. It is a life of higher planes. I should not limit my sources of information or stay out of the matter. I should make good use of the news and videos organized by fellow practitioners working in the media. But I shall not be mired in people's protests, disturbed emotionally, or carried away by good or bad news.

The process of clarifying the truth about Dafa is also an opportunity to cleanse myself and eliminate human notions and attachments. I remind myself that I should not pursue “likes” when I re-post news or videos. My attitude should be pure and sacred.

Sending forth righteous thoughts is also important. I noticed that I usually saw more positive news on the days I sent forth righteous thoughts well and vice versa.

I believe the result will come naturally when practitioners do the correct things and reach Dafa’s standard.
