(Minghui.org) For thousands of years, China’s divinely-bestowed traditional culture has inspired people to be good. Ancient Chinese focused on improving their character. They treated each other with respect and held themselves to high moral standards.

This harmony was disrupted decades ago after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came to power. In the name of egalitarianism, the CCP advocated class struggle through violent revolution, turning people against each other and separating them from their traditional values of goodness and kindness.

After witnessing how the regime constantly covered up and misinformed the public about the coronavirus outbreak, more and more Chinese have begun to ponder the harm brought about by the CCP and are searching for a safer and brighter future. Many have found answers from Falun Gong practitioners who have been phoning people in China, offering a valuable perspective on the misdeeds of the CCP – especially how the CCP has been using the same tactics in mishandling the virus as those employed in its 21-year systematic persecution of Falun Gong.

Below are excerpts from several phone conversations that an overseas Falun Gong practitioner recently had with people in China.

Young Man from Northeastern China

A young man in northeastern China said he had heard about Falun Gong, but did not know much about it. “Can you tell me more?” he asked.

The practitioner told him that Falun Gong is a meditation system based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Although practiced in over 100 countries by about 100 million people, it has been suppressed by the CCP since July 1999. Over 4,300 practitioners are known to have lost their lives to the persecution, with many more detained and tortured for their belief.

The conversation lasted nearly an hour and the young man asked many questions. He said that he had poor health and had been trying different methods to keep fit. The practitioner shared her own experience of how she improved her health through the practice and encouraged him to give it a try.

“Even supporting innocent practitioners for their upright belief during this harsh persecution will be good for you,” the practitioner added. She said that Chinese people believe that humans are always watched by the divine and whoever follows their conscience will be blessed.

The young man was very touched. “When I was younger I was told that those who do good deeds would be saved by heaven during disasters... Very few people are talking about that now,” he said. “What you said makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much!”

Family of Three in Wuhan

Another recipient of the practitioner's phone call was a teenage girl in Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. When the practitioner asked how she was doing, the girl said she was very sad. “Lots of people have died. My friends and I cannot go to school, and my family dare not go out either. I am so scared,” she shared.

The practitioner told the girl, who'd gotten her parents to listen in on the phone call too, that the coronavirus is more contagious than the 2003 SARS epidemic. Plus, there is no vaccine available for it either. “The best way to remain safe is to separate ourselves from the CCP regime,“ the practitioner said. “When we joined the CCP organizations, we all made vows to devote our lives to it. If the CCP is weeded out by history for all the bad deeds it has done, wouldn't those connected with it be in danger as well?”

Both the girl and her parents agreed to quit the CCP and the Party's organizations for children and youth. “I will also tell my friends about it, because I want them to be safe too,” the girl said.

Buddhist: I Believe Your Words

A woman in Shandong Province told the practitioner that she is a Buddhist. “The coronavirus is very frightening,” she said.

“There are stories in history that tell how, when people committed many wrongdoings, their karma brought them all kinds of trouble,” the practitioner responded. “Look at what the CCP has done to China—about 80 million people have died during its political campaigns. If someone blindly follows the CCP instead of following their own thinking or conscience, wouldn’t they be in danger when the CCP heads for destruction?”

The woman said she believes in the proverb, “Good is rewarded with good and evil meets evil.” The practitioner continued, telling her how much practitioners have suffered at the hands of the Chinese regime for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She told how countless practitioners have been subjected to beatings, forced labor, sleep deprivation, psychiatric abuse, and even forced organ harvesting.

The woman was very moved. “In the past, I did not know what Falun Gong was since all the [state-controlled] media reports are negative. By talking with you, I can tell that you are doing this sincerely for the sake of others,” she said. Then she added, “What you are doing is very important for all of us, like the salvation mentioned in Buddhism.”

At the end of their conversation, she invited the practitioner to visit her in the future so that they could continue chatting.

Medical Staff in Gansu Province

On another call, a chief physician at a hospital in Gansu Province picked up the phone. As the practitioner greeted him and wished him well, the physician said that working on the front line saving people is very risky. “I could get infected someday. Who knows?” he said pessimistically.

The practitioner understood his concerns. Other than taking the necessary precautions, she also suggested that he remain positive since his good deeds of helping people would be rewarded. “In both ancient Roman plagues and today’s coronavirus pandemic, there are stories in which people of righteousness were blessed,” she said.

A group of nurses in the hospital also received phone calls from the practitioner. “Many plagues in history were related to persecution of people of faith,” the practitioner explained. “If people want to become better citizens and yet they are suppressed by a totalitarian regime, what does that mean for society? And what would happen to the public who witnesses the brutality and chooses to appease the tyrant?”

“Similar brutalities have happened in today’s China,” she continued. “After targeting various groups during numerous political campaigns, the CCP has now focused on Falun Gong. As a result of the CCP's slanderous propaganda, many people have been misled and have turned against Falun Gong and its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

As the conversation came to an end, the nurses said that it was very helpful and they thanked the practitioner. One of the nurses told her sincerely, “Trust me, we will all remember what you’ve told us. That is, ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.'”
