An Elite Salesperson with a Fresh Approach in the Corrupt World

As my cultivation improved, my body and mind changed a lot. From being tortured by all kinds of illnesses, to being illness-free, from haggling over every ounce to always thinking about the needs of others, from a lost lamb to a well-cultivated Dafa practitioner, my life has been cleansed and reformed in Dafa. I have witnessed Dafa’s power.
Before practicing Falun Dafa, I suffered from congenital heart disease, high blood pressure, chronic gastroenteritis, chronic bronchitis, chronic pharyngitis, dizziness, and other diseases. I didn’t believe in qigong due to the influence of an atheistic education. When my husband was hospitalized with liver cancer in 1998, his roommate recommended Falun Dafa to him. I decided to test it out for him, and joined a group meditation near my home.
Beyond any expectations, all my illnesses disappeared after practicing for less than a month. More amazing was that my body started to produce antibodies to hepatitis B. Our child and I received the hepatitis B vaccine. Our child quickly developed hepatitis B antibodies, but I never did. The doctor said it was because I was an adult in poor health that it was difficult for me to form hepatitis B antibodies.
After experiencing everything that happened to me, I had to reflect on my view of the world. The atheism that had imprisoned me for decades no longer had a hold on me. I embarked on a journey to return to my original self.
Becoming a Self-taught Sales Elite
I was a business executive of a large domestic financial company. When the persecution of Falun Dafa started, company management was under pressure from the government, so I was removed from a management position and reassigned to a sales position.
The chaos in China’s financial industry is notorious. Financial sales are particularly risky due to the long cycle and uncertainty. They have high requirements for professional qualities like sales skills, career sensitivity, and ability to research and judge the market. I knew little about any of it, however, and had to start from ground zero.
I was initially at a loss because I had no sales experience, had never been sociable, and felt awkward in front of customers. Yet, to everyone’s surprise, I achieved some sales every day. My colleagues asked me how I was able to sell so easily. I told them that I practiced Falun Dafa, followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and my positive energy could influence customers. Some customers told me that they felt secure in buying products from me.
I was the only employee who didn’t have a professional certificate in sales, so I studied on my own through talking to people, searched online for information, and participated in business training. My communication with customers gradually became more smooth. I sometimes made deals using just a few sentences. The customers trusted me a lot. They often introduced me to their friends so they would do business with me. Within three months, I became the top sales person in the company. At the company meeting, the company CEO told everyone to learn from me.
Fresh Approach in the Corrupt World
There is certain saying in the sales world, “Customers are the parents who provide clothes and food.” Whoever wins customers wins the market. Therefore, some companies offer bonuses to good salespeople in order to open the market and improve product awareness.
I was cited as a business model for ten consecutive years, won the national top 100 sales person, and won many awards from the general and provincial companies. Due to my outstanding sales performance I became a model salesperson for many cooperative companies. My office was like a market that sales people from different companies came to visit. Some brought me fruit, and some brought me snacks. They were afraid I would favor one company over the others. I was troubled by the gifts, because accepting them doesn’t meet the standard of a Dafa practitioner. However, if I didn't accept them, I would appear different to my peers.
I refused to take anything at first, but people felt awkward with that response. Later, I accepted small things such as food, which I shared with my colleagues. I always refused any gifts that were expensive. If the person insisted, I just gave the gifts to our customers.
Some people didn’t understand me. A sales person from another company once asked me to promote a new product of theirs. I told him that I couldn’t sell it for them because there were defects in the product. He indicated that they would give me a large “bonus.” I said that I cultivated in Falun Dafa and wouldn’t do such a thing. He left and was unhappy with the outcome.
A few days later, I was told that someone reported my sales team for “receiving huge business rebates.” We were inspected immediately. It was revealed that I hadn't received any rebates, but often used my own money on business promotions and customer maintenance. One of the managers told me that so few people were conducted business like me nowadays, and only among Falun Dafa practitioners could such a person be found. Company executives also warned the sales people to follow the rules, otherwise, they would be expelled from the local market.
During ten years in financial sales, I’ve followed Falun Dafa’s requirement to be a good person. I not only became the best sales person, but also brought a fresh way of functioning to the industry.
It is just as Master said:
“All professions in human society should exist. It is the human heart that is indecent, rather than one’s occupation. There was a saying in the old days: ‘Nine out of ten merchants are fraudulent.’ That is a saying made by everyday people. I would say that it is a matter of the human heart.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)
