My Cultivation Experience in Truth Clarification

(Minghui.org) Greetings, Revered Master! Greetings, fellow practitioners!

I took up Falun Dafa in 2000. In the early days of cultivation, my fellow practitioners and I often went to school celebrations and sports events in various places to demonstrate the exercises. The good fortune to have encountered Dafa drove us to actively pursue more opportunities to spread Dafa.

For a long time, we went to a senior center to teach the elderly to do the exercises. Most of them could not raise their hands too high, so we gently supported their hands in doing the exercises. There were people who really wanted to learn and entrusted us to help them purchase the book of Zhuan Falun and reading glasses. When they got the book, they cradled it carefully in their arms like a treasure. We felt a warm current in our hearts. It was a kind of joy that was intertwined with gratitude.

I have met on the Internet many netizens in mainland China who wanted to learn Falun Dafa. They asked for Dafa materials. Some said. “The precious book is really amazing. After reading a few paragraphs, I have already understood a lot. I would like to express my deep gratitude!” “A new life is about to begin for me!”

Others said, “I have studied Chinese medicine before and have an understanding of the theory of the harmony between man and nature and the balance of yin and yang. This book covers things even beyond that. It would take reading hundreds of times to truly comprehend and understand thoroughly.”

I was deeply moved by the feedback from people in China. They have been looking for cultivation opportunities. I was just like them at the beginning of my cultivation! I understood in my heart that Dafa is what I wanted. I must cherish the opportunity. Here I would like to share my cultivation experience of eliminating human attachments in the process of clarifying the truth.

Treasure Every Truth-clarification Opportunity

Whenever I read the following Fa, I always felt nervous.

Master said,

“That’s because Fa-rectification is unceasingly forging ahead, step by step, and when it arrives at one cosmic plane it is time for that level of people; when it reaches a certain heavenly kingdom above, or a certain layer of cosmic body, it is time for that group of people to come see [the show], and next time around [when Shen Yun performs], that seat will belong to someone else.” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa - Fa Teaching Given at the 2011 Washington DC Metro Area Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XI)

I thought, “if the sentient beings in a certain row and a certain seat were assigned to me and I did not know them, how could I find them and get them to sit in their seats?”

While Shen Yun was being promoted, I went online one day to exhort people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Someone said that he also lives in Taoyuan, Taiwan. He was a corporate high-level officer. So I talked to him about Shen Yun instead. He was very interested. However, because he was always busy traveling for work, we couldn’t solidify a show date for him to buy a ticket. On the day of the performance, I messaged him about the last few remaining seats. But I did not hear from him. After a while, he sent a photo of him buying a ticket from our ticket booth in a supermarket after he received my message.

After the show, he asked to meet me to take a picture together. He thanked me for my recommendation. He said that he only learned about the live organ harvesting from the performance and asked me for more information. This experience made me understand that there was indeed a seat for him at the show. It was indeed my responsibility to help him make it to the venue that day. We didn’t know each other until we got connected through the Internet. I felt that Master has helped pave the way for his disciples, but we have to walk the path ourselves.

The opportunity for every destined person to hear the truth is arranged by Master. None of it is simple. At the same time, I have a deeper understanding of what Master has said,

“Before descending to the world, we promised each otherWhoever obtained the Fa first should find the other...” (“Fulfilling the Vow,” Hong Yin III)

I feel the great responsibility of saving people. I cannot be negligent!

Pay More Attention to Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts

Although I knew the importance of sending forth righteous thoughts, for a long time, I had been merely going through the motions. Later I realized that if I neglected to pay attention to clearing my own field, it would be more difficult to send righteous thoughts. I started to increase the time to clean up my own field.

I also sent righteous thoughts prior to making phone calls to urge people to withdraw from the CCP. This had a positive impact on clarifying the truth. The chance of the other party’s answering the phone call was greatly improved. More people were willing to finish listening to the call. And the rate of agreeing to withdraw from the CCP has also been increasing steadily. I was also able to maintain a more stable state of having righteous thoughts.

Once, after a call went through, I heard many people whispering on the other end of the line. Someone said, “It is from Taiwan.” Another person said, “It's about quitting the CCP.” A third person said, “Hurry up and hang up.”

I reminded myself to maintain righteous thoughts and not be affected. I continued to say what I had to say, and suddenly a voice said to me, “I want to withdraw. I am a CCP member. Help me quit! You know, I can’t say too much…”

Although this gentleman was under the pressure of several friends around him opposing his withdrawal from the CCP, he seized the moment for himself. I quickly gave him a pseudonym “Zhicheng” and asked him if he agreed. He repeated it three times and said, “Got it! My name is Zhicheng. My name is Zhicheng. My name is Zhicheng.” I asked him if I could add his chat account and contact him again to help his friends withdraw. He agreed and hung up the phone.

Another time, the other party was a doctor. When I urged him to withdraw from the CCP, he did not understand. He thought I was seeking medical advice from him, and kept repeating his outpatient programs and said, “I treat patients with poor financial situations for free. Please let me know your health conditions.”

No matter what I said, he just could not understand me. However, since I sent forth righteous thoughts prior to the phone call, I was able to stay calm and maintain righteous thoughts. Although he was extremely impatient, he did not hang up the phone.

I praised him for his willingness to help poor people and that he was a kind person. At the same time, I slowed down and told him more clearly, “I am calling to ask you to quit the Chinese Communist Party, Youth League and Young Pioneers.” All of a sudden, his confusion disappeared. He finally understood, “Oh, so you are talking about quitting the CCP! I am a party member! Please be careful not to go out and say this out loud. You would be caught. You are trying to help me quit the CCP, right? Yes. And let’s make friends!” I was so glad that I didn’t give up and broke through the invisible interference.

Another time, an 86-year-old man told me that he could not move around after a stroke and had poor eyesight, but he wanted to learn about Falun Dafa. After evaluating his situation, I asked him, “I can send Master’s lecture audios to you every day. You need to keep up with the progress.” He accepted my suggestion.

Before he finished listening to the first lecture, he told me, “Thanks to Master Li so much! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great! Thank you, Master Li, for purifying my mind and body! I am so enlightened and truly understand that qigong is cultivation. Cultivation is the cultivation of character. Salute to you all! You sacrifice your personal time to serve everyone. Thank you very much!”

When he listened to the second lecture, he told me, “After I watched Master’s video yesterday, although my right side was weak, I made a few movements following the exercise demonstration in the video. I then felt that my right foot had improved. I even could walk a few steps normally. This is a miracle!” When he got to the seventh lecture, he shared with me again that his right hand could also raise high in the exercises.

Although he experienced significant changes, he suddenly removed me from his friends online. I was anxious and thought to myself, “He has not finished all nine lectures yet.” I immediately sat down and sent forth righteous thoughts to get rid of all interferences. Then I sent out a thought, “I believe he will add me back to his friends’ list, so that I can smoothly send all Master’s lectures to him.” At the same time, I looked inward to examine any attachments I might have developed in the process such as zealotry.

The next day, he added me back to his friends, and said that he removed me because he was deeply disappointed by the unfairness in the U.S. election, which had shaken his thought about cultivation. After I shared with him my thoughts, he realized that he was still thinking about problems with his human notions and didn’t see the essence of the problem. He promised that he would continue to practice without being distracted.

When he added me back, I couldn’t help crying. I understood further the importance of the tools Master gave us: sending forth righteous thoughts and looking inward. I will pay more attention to sending forth righteous thoughts prior to clarifying the truth, and eliminating all interferences.

Maintaining a Calm and Peaceful Mindset

When clarifying the truth, no matter what the other person’s attitude is, I remind myself to keep a peaceful heart, not to be tempted and affected. When the other people feel our sincerity, they often turn around and change their attitudes and are more willing to accept the truth.

I participated in a chat group and we took turns urging people to withdraw from the CCP. The front-end practitioners have already distributed a lot of the truth-clarification materials. Many people have already learned the truth, and many people have even quit the CCP on the Internet themselves.

Once, I met a man and I asked him if he knew about quitting the CCP. He yelled at me, “I know the truth. Why do I need you to help me?” He yelled furiously. I immediately thought of Master’s teaching,

“Even when in your daily life you pass by people so quickly that you don't have a chance to talk to them, you should still leave them with your compassion and kindness.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IV)

I apologized to him for bothering him. I sent him my best wishes as well.

Then I moved onto the next person. The man called after a while and apologized to me, “I’m sorry! I was a bit anxious just now, and you have been kind. I feel embarrassed. Although we have different beliefs, I understand what you’re doing. Even though I haven’t paid any party dues for 16 years and haven’t participated in any activities, I actually quit from the CCP a long time ago! Because of your sincerity, I am willing to cooperate with you to complete this!” Then he even wanted to give me his identification number.

Cultivate Ourselves Well and Treasure Our Cultivation Path

Master said,

“Conveying the truth to the world’s people may appear simple, yet it impacts the futures of sentient beings. In order to do this task well, you must cultivate yourselves well.” (“Congratulations to the Taiwan Fa Conference”)

Every day and every moment of our life belong to the practice. We should always pay attention to our own thoughts. One morning, I returned home from group exercises to see my father-in-law’s excrement everywhere, from the living room to the bedroom. His bed sheet was all dirty and stinky. When my mother-in-law saw me, she scolded him in front of me. I comforted my mother-in-law, “Mom, don’t blame dad! He didn’t mean it. He didn’t want to do this. I will just clean it up.”

That day, after tidying up everything, I collapsed in the bed. I was not upset in my heart. I just did what I was supposed to do. My father-in-law was getting older and had Alzheimers. My mother-in-law told him that she kept his money so he would not buy cigarettes. But he kept forgetting and often told my husband that I stole money from him and asked my husband to “fire the servant who only cooks and cleans.” My husband understood everything and said with a smile, “I can’t fire her! If I do, I won’t find such a great wife anymore.”

My father-in-law has passed away. Looking back, I did my best taking care of him without regret. If it weren’t for the cultivation of Dafa that made me understand the relationship between people, I wouldn’t have been able to face everything calmly. On the cultivation path, there are some tests that we would still have a second chance to do well later. However, some other tests are difficult to have another chance to make right. I should cherish this opportunity even more. In my daily life, I seize the time to study the Fa first, and then do household chores. With good time management, I never delay cooking for my family.

Master said,

“The time has been extended for your sake, and for the sake of sentient beings.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)

We should hurry up to save the sentient beings and not let the precious time slip away.
