Additional Persecution News from China – February 27, 2021 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Manye Held in Detention Center

Ms. Yang Manye from the Putuo District was arrested by the Jing’an District police on February 25, 2021. She was placed under criminal detention that evening. She is being held in the Jing’an District Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lei Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Lei from Dongcheng District was scheduled to be tried on the third floor of the Xicheng District Court on March 1, 2021.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Yao Junqing Sentenced to Prison

Elderly Ms. Yao Junqing from the Puhuangyu Erli Residential Community, Fengtai District, had been missing since January 2020. It was reported that she was sentenced to a one-year-and-six-month prison term.

For several years, she had been under the surveillance of Liu Hongjun, of the Puhuangyu Police Station, and Liu Tingting, of the residential committee.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sui Xiuzhen Passes Away Due to Persecution

Chongqing Road Police Station officers and community members went to 78-year-old Ms. Sui Xiuzhen’s home and harassed her in November 2020.

At the end of December 2020, these same people harassed and threatened Ms. Sui three times at her home. She was frightened and passed away due to a sudden, acute coronary disease on January 10, 2021.

5. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Liang Abused in Prison

Mr. Wang Liang, about 45, from the Zhangdian District, was sentenced on March 22, 2016, to seven years and six months in prison for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. He is being held in the Jinan Prison.

In 2020, due to the outbreak of the CCP virus (coronavirus), family visits were not allowed. Phone calls were initially allowed, but now he is deprived of the right to call home because the prison is trying to forcibly transform him.

Mr. Wang has been persecuted continuously since July 20, 1999, and was displaced for about two years. He was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison, and returned home in 2013. During that period, his wife divorced him. His father was under great stress and passed away. His mother was also harassed and taken into custody.

6. [Pingyu County, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Jieling Held in Custody

Ms. Yang Jieling was targeted by Zhou Xiaodong deputy chief of the Pingyu County Police Department. She has been held in the Pingyu County Detention Center for over five months. Her family is very worried about her.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Deng Xiuqin Taken to Detention Center

Ms. Deng Xiuqin was arrested at home by four plainclothes officers from the Yijiadun Street Police Station, Qiaokou District, on February 24, 2021. She was taken to the City No. 1 Hospital for physical examination and nucleic acid tests before being taken to a detention center.

8. [Huining County, Gansu Province] Mr. Li Shouzi Harassed

Mr. Li Shouzi from Xinzhuang Township received a phone call from prosecutor Zhang from the Baiyin District Procuratorate. He was told to go to the procuratorate to answer questions with written transcript, which the procuratorate would use to build a case against him.

9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jiemei Taken to Detention Center

Ms. Wang Jiemei’s family called the local police station on the morning of February 26, 2021, and learned that Ms. Wang was taken to the Shenyang City No. 2 Detention Center.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Teng Yuguo’s Case Brought to Court

The Yuhong District Court called Mr. Teng Yuguo’s wife on February 19, 2021, and told her that her husband’s case had been brought to the Yuhong District Court.

11. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shubo Arrested

Displaced Ms. Wang Shubo was arrested in Jiamusi City. She is being held in the Huanan County Detention Center.
