(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 75 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Meihong Taken to Prison

Ms. Wang Meihong, a senior engineer, was tried by the Daoli District Court on March 31, 2021. After she was sentenced to four years in prison, she was secretly taken to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison.

2. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Wang Xinyin (gender unknown) and Ms. Xu Chunling were sentenced in May 2020 by Yang Tao, director of the Criminal Tribunal of Gulou District Court, to one year and three years in prison, respectively.

Ms. Yang Yuelan was sentenced to two years in prison in June 2020.

3. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Guozhen Faces Trial

Ms. Zhao Guozhen, 78, lives in Hongjialou Sub-district, Licheng District. Around 11 a.m. on May 16, 2021, the Zhangqiu Police Department called and told Ms. Zhao to go to the Zhangqiu Court to pick up the hearing notice. At noon on May 18, Judge Pei called Ms. Zhao to go to the court and told her that she would be tried on May 28.

4. [Yangquan City, Shanxi Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Four people from the Majiaping Police Station and the community management office, Kuang District, broke into Ms. Zhang Baomei’s home in late April 2021 and told her not to visit or associate with other practitioners.

Officers including Zhang Baomin, from the Majiaping Police Station, went to the Qiaoxifu Tailor Shop at the Beiping Market to harass Ms. Cheng Guifang on the morning of April 28. They told her, “If you say that you still practice Falun Gong, you will be arrested.”

Five people from the Baojin Road Police Station and the Dahua Community Management Office, Development Zone, went to Ms. Tian Runhua’s home in late April. Ms. Tian did not open the door. Afterwards, they called her husband and harassed him. They went to Ms. Tian’s home again in early May and forcibly photographed her.

Three officers from the Majiaping Police Station broke into Ms. Yang Shengping’s home in late April. They started taking pictures of her as soon as they entered the house. She stopped them.

Ms. Wang Suping, Ms. Yan Xiuzhen, Ms. Zhang Ruiping, Ms. Zhu Shangxiao, Ms. Wang Surong, Yang Bianyu, Ms. Duan Gaizhuan, Ms. Geng Lanying, and Mr. Wang Binde were also harassed by the local police and residential community management office staff members.

5. [Yanbian Prefecture, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Changjun Under Surveillance

Mr. Sun Changjun has returned home from the brainwashing center. Although he is now at home, he still lives under surveillance and is being monitored.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pan Haoqiu Taken to Detention Center

The Zunhua City Domestic Security Division and the Ping’ancheng Town Police Station dispatched about 20 to 30 officers in five police vehicles to Ms. Pan Haoqiu’s home in Ping’ancheng No. 3 Village and arrested her at 5 a.m. on May 12, 2021.

They confiscated a large number of personal items including a printer, Falun Dafa books, speakers, printing paper, and more than 10,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Pan was taken to the detention center.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Seven or eight officers from the Xinzhou District 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the police department broke into elderly Ms. Zhou’s home on May 21, 2020, when Ms. Lin Wangmei, Ms. Peng Silian, and Ms. Xu Jianying were there studying the Falun Gong teachings together.

Officer Yuan Jun from the 610 Office started taking pictures with a police camera as soon as he entered the house. Officers ransacked Ms. Zhou’s home and confiscated all her Falun Dafa books among other items.

The officers took the four practitioners to the local police station, took pictures of them, collected their blood samples and fingerprints. The officers interrogated them and pressured them to sign paperwork. Three elderly practitioners were released that evening. Ms. Xu was interrogated until 11 p.m. She was then released on bail for one year.

In Mid-May 2021, the Xinzhou Court called Ms. Xu. She was told to go to the court, where she learned that she would be tried on May 21.

8. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Yumei Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Yumei is scheduled to be tried by the Nanshan District Court on May 20.

9. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Jin’e Missing

Around 7 p.m. on May 14, 2021, Ms. Cao Jin’e went missing after talking to people about Falun Gong in Guangyang District. Her whereabouts are still unknown.

10. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Deng Yongmei, Ms. Liu Xin’an, and Ms. Chou Yunfeng from Shashi District were transferred to the Yichang City No. 1 Detention Center from the Zhijiang Supervision Center on April 28, 2021. Mr. Wang Meiqing was transferred to the Dangyang City No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Chou returned home on the evening of May 11.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guixiang Harassed

Ms. Li Guixiang was harassed at home by people from the Baiyi Community Management Office, Nanling Sub-district, Nanguan District, on May 17, 2021. They pressured Ms. Li to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. Her husband said that practicing Falun Gong did not violate the law and that they definitely would not sign it.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Lu Sumin Arrested

Ms. Lu Sumin from Mentougou District was arrested by officers from the Dongxinfang Police Station on April 16, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was later released on bail.

13. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Manqun, Ms. Fu Qingming, Zhang Yarong, Wei Siniang, and Xu Simo from Xuyong County were celebrating May 13 (World Falun Dafa Day) at 85-year-old Ms. Fan’s home. Suddenly people from the Xuyong County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, the Huancheng Community Management Office, and the Xicheng Police Station broke into Ms. Fan’s home. They took pictures of the practitioners and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, and DVDs.

The practitioners were taken to the police station and interrogated separately. They were released after 7 p.m. that night.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Zhenying and Ms. Jiang Shumei Face Trial

Ms. Xu Zhenying, 74, from Huanggu District, was reported to the police for using paper currency with Falun Gong facts printed on them in a supermarket. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Dafa books were confiscated. She was held in the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center in February 2021. Her case was brought to the Huanggu District Court. She is scheduled to be tried soon.

Ms. Jiang Shumei, 65, from Huanggu District, was arrested on February 24. Her home was ransacked and a computer, and printer, among other personal belongings were confiscated. She was held in the detention center. Her case was brought to the court, and she now faces trial.

15. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Qin Xiaoli Arrested

Ms. Qin Xiaoli was arrested by four domestic security officers on May 18, 2021. The officers confiscated a printer and two laptops. It is not clear where she is being held.

16. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Lingmin and Ms. Sun Rui Detained

Ms. Sun Lingmin from Qingfeng Street, Tiande Township, was arrested on the evening of May 13, 2021. She was detained for 13 days.

Ms. Sun Rui was arrested on May 11, and she was detained for seven days.

Ms. Xu Zhiping’s home was ransacked three times after she was arrested. Even the homes of her two neighbors were searched. (Previously Ms. Xu Zhiping’s name was misspelled as Xu Ping.)

Ms. Dang Baofen’s home was ransacked and her personal belongings were confiscated.

17. [Tianjin] Ms. Chen Xiuqin and Ms. Liu Xiumei Harassed

Ms. Chen Xiuqin was harassed at home on May 10, 2021, by Liu Zhiguang, Party secretary of Yangzhonghe Village, Chengguan Town, Wuqing District. She was pressured to sign the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. Two officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station harassed Ms. Chen again on May 18.

Two people from the Chengguan Town Government and Qian, Party secretary of Wuliangmiao Village, went to Ms. Liu Xiumei’s home on the afternoon of May 13, 2021. They pressured her to sign the three statements, but she refused.

18. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Officers including Li Baozhi from the Xiguan Town Police Station, Shuangcheng District, went to Mr. Guo Longquan’s home in Yuejin Village on May 2 and 3, 2021. The officers wanted to take pictures of Mr. Guo and Ms. Ma Yumin, but they refused to cooperate.

The secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and others went to Ms. Ma’s home again on May 18. They then went to Ms. Lang Wanhong’ home in Yuren Village on May 19. Ms. Lang refused to talk to them.

19. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Hui, Mr. Liu Tiejun, Ms. Jiang Shuqin, Dong Shurong, Jin Ling, Zhou, Bi, and Zheng were arrested by officers from the Tumen City Domestic Security Division on May 15, 2021. It was reported that Zhou was released that day.

20. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xu Lizhen Harassed

Mr. Xu Lizhen was harassed at home by two officers from the Nancheng Police Station on May 12, 2021. The officers asked if he still practiced Falun Gong and asked about his child’s attitude towards him. They threatened that if he continued to practice, he would have trouble receiving his pension.

21. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yuping and Ms. Fan Huili Harassed

Mr. Li Yuping and Ms. Fan Huili from Qianpuli Village, Shengcheng Sub-district, Shouguang City, were harassed by officers from the Jianqiao Police Station on May 13, 2021. The officers took pictures around their homes and asked them whether they still practiced Falun Gong.

22. [Anping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Qiushuan and Xiaojie Arrested

When Ms. Li Qiushuan and Xiaojie posted Falun Gong materials, they were seen and stopped by government officials on the afternoon of May 17, 2021. The officials also reported them to the police. Both practitioners were arrested by officers from the Jiaoqiu Police Station. Their homes were ransacked that evening, and they were released at midnight.

23. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ming Yanbo Arrested

Ms. Ming Yanbo, 74, was arrested at home by officers including Mao Xu led by deputy director of the Longhua Police Station, Longtan District, on May 13, 2021.

The officers confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, a copy of Zhuan Falun, and printed materials.

The officers took Ms. Ming to the police station for questioning. They asked her the source of the printed materials, but she refused to answer. Ms. Ming was released that day.

24. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Hui Held in Detention Center; Her Family Harassed

Ms. Li Hui, a freshman in college, was reported to the police by college officials. She was held in the Weifang City Detention Center for 27 days. The Qingzhou Domestic Security Division has been coercing her mother and her older sister to give up practicing Falun Gong. They also destroyed Falun Gong books and photos of its founder.

25. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhao Shuying, Ms. Chen Caimin, and Ms. Li Cuixia from Xiaochengzi Town were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Damingta Fair, Tianyi Town, Inner Mongolia, on May 17 and May 18, 2021. They were arrested by officers from the Tianyi Police Station. Officers from the Tianyi Police Station and the Xiaochengzi Town Police Station ransacked their homes. Further details are pending.

26. [Linxia County, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners including Chen Gawen were arrested in early March 2021. They were held in the Linxia County Detention Center for over two months.

27. [Tianjin] Ms. Tian Tiemei Harassed

Personnel from the Chengguan Police Station, the town government, and Party secretary of Dongzhangying Village in Wuqing District went to Ms. Tian Tiemei’s home on the afternoon of May 14, 2021. They threatened her and pressured her to sign the three statements.

They went Ms. Tian’s home on the morning of May 12, when she was not at home. They tore off couplets and decorative papers containing the word “Blissfulness” on both sides of the gate to her home.

28. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xu Guixiang Held in Detention Center

Ms. Xu Guixiang from Zhuwangpu Village, Zhuwangpu Town, Yongchang County, was arrested by officers from the Yongchang County Domestic Security Division in Shuangcheng Town, Weiwu City, on May 17, 2021. She is being held in the Yongchang Detention Center.

Ms. Xu’s husband Mr. Xu Jinwen was arrested on April 22. Ms. Xu escaped at the time and was displaced for over 20 days.
