(Minghui.org) When Minghui.org released the one-hour version of the music for exercise two (The Falun Standing Stance), I did not believe I could do it. I gave myself an excuse by saying that I needed more sleep to stay awake at work.

I tried to do the hour-long version on the days I did not work. But my thinking was off: I thought that doing the exercise for an hour was exhausting, and I needed to sleep to recover my energy afterward. But the more I slept after doing the exercise for an hour, the sleepier I felt. So I did not include the hour-long version in my daily routine. I told myself, “You might not be able to do this. Those elderly retired practitioners have plenty of time every day and they don’t need much sleep anyway. You have to work. Forget it!” Feeling justified, I continued with my old routine that included the 30-minute version of exercise two.

Interfered with by the old forces, I was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 2019. After I got out of prison, my cultivation state wasn’t good and I was always tired. Then I read an article on Minghui.org that suggested doing the exercises every morning is the starting point for diligent cultivation. Inspired, I started to do the exercises every morning, and my energy level steadily improved.

I also decided to overcome my laziness by holding the wheel for an hour in the morning. But I was still nervous. I wasn’t sure if I had enough stamina. During my two years in prison I could not do the exercises. When I was released, I especially cherished the opportunity to do them as part of my daily routine. So I told myself to make a breakthrough by doing exercise two for an hour.

The first day I did the one-hour version, I was unbelievably tired. Every muscle in my body was quivering, but I firmly believed what Master said:

“Has it ever occurred to you that cultivation is the best form of rest? You can obtain the kind of rest that can’t be obtained through sleep. Nobody would say: “The exercises are making me so tired that I can’t do anything today.”” (Teachings at the First Conference in North America)

I realized that the “tired feeling” was a false impression. The next day, I still felt tired. I encouraged myself with a line from Master’s exercise verse “Shenghui Zhengli” (Wisdom is Enhanced and Powers Strengthened) and became more determined. After two weeks of my new routine, I suddenly felt something interesting. When I got up after 3 a.m. to do the exercises, as soon as I turned on the music, I felt completely awake. A second before I was very sleepy.

I knew Master was encouraging me, and it gave me more confidence to do the second exercise for an hour. After about a month, I found that I only need to sleep five or six hours a night. If I sleep longer, I feel tired.

I am not alone. Other practitioners in my area who do the exercises in the morning at the same time feel the same way.

Several months have passed, and doing the exercises in the morning gives me lots of energy even though I sleep less. I now have more time to study the Fa with a group. I have begun to memorize some paragraphs of Zhuan Falun. Some days I spend hours reading Master’s other lectures. More Fa-study helps me to do better clarifying the truth and saving people.

More energy helps my Fa study, which improves my overall cultivation. I can now do the three things better. I feel more confident in my cultivation. Doing exercise two for an hour has been a breakthrough for me.
