(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Gangli has been hospitalized for extremely high blood pressure while serving time for her faith in Falun Gong. The prison authorities have not allowed her family, who are very worried about her, to visit her.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Liu Gangli
Ms. Liu of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, was arrested on February 2, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was sentenced to 4.5 years on August 10, 2021. Her family hasn’t been allowed to visit her or call her since she was taken to Liaoning Province No. 2 Women’s Prison on August 16, 2022.
On October 26, a guard called Ms. Liu’s husband and told him that her systolic blood pressure was nearly 200 mmHg and they were planning to take her to the hospital the next day. Ms. Liu’s husband rushed to the prison, trying to find out more about her condition, but the guard refused to see him. That evening, the guard called him again and said that Ms. Liu’s blood pressure had gone down and that she could now do some work in the prison’s workshop.
When Ms. Liu’s husband called the prison on November 3, he was told that she was still hospitalized. The person who answered refused to provide more information about her.
A guard called Ms. Liu’s husband that evening, saying again that her blood pressure had gone down and that she could now do the required labor in the prison. Her husband demanded to know how she could work in the evening if she was being hospitalized during the day. He also worried that her condition was rather severe; otherwise, the prison wouldn’t have taken her to the hospital. Seeing that the guard is trying to cover up Ms. Liu’s condition, he is more worried about her than ever.
