Dublin, Ireland: Holiday Shoppers Learn About Falun Dafa, Lending Support to End the Persecution of the Peaceful Practice in China

(Minghui.org) The center of Dublin was crowded with people admiring the Christmas lights on November 26, 2022. Amid the cheerful atmosphere, Falun Dafa practitioners greeted people and introduced them to the practice of Falun Dafa. They also informed people about the persecution that Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) practitioners are suffering in China.

Romanian Tourist Encounters Falun Dafa

The practitioners demonstrated the exercises to the calming exercise music. Their demonstration attracted a middle-aged man called Ionut, who was passing by. He stopped in his tracks and watched the practitioners quietly for a while. Then he also raised his hands to imitate the practitioners’ exercise movement.

The practitioners were doing the movements of the first exercise, where both palms need to turn in opposite directions. Ionut seemed to be stuck in this movement and he just exchanged his hand positions, looking as though he also felt that that was not correct. A practitioner saw his movement and turned around to do it with him at a slower pace, explaining the main points of the movements. A few minutes later, Ionut got the hang of how to do that particular movement. The practitioner introduced to him that this is the first exercise of Falun Dafa, and asked him how he felt after doing the exercise. He exclaimed, “Good! Good! Good!”

The practitioner then explained that there are five sets of exercises when doing Falun Dafa, which are all taught to people free of charge and are simple and easy to do. Ionut pointed to the exercise illustrations on the flier and assured that he understood the information about the practice correctly in English, which he was not very fluent in. He explained that he came from Romania. He is here for a weekend tour and would leave the next day. As he spoke, he took out his mobile phone and showed the practitioner his name.

A practitioner informed him that he could find the Falun Dafa (also Falun Gong) books in the Romanian language on the Falun Dafa website. The practitioner also explained that they were free and could be downloaded from the Internet. He also found the contact information for the Romanian practice sites on the web page. Ionut seemed to be very happy and kept thanking the practitioner before he left.

Signing a Petition Condemning Persecution by the Chinese Regime

Many passers-by stopped to view the photo exhibits that were displayed by the Falun Dafa practitioners. A Western lady stopped at the display boards, pointed at them, and explained why the information was displayed to her friend. She told her friend, “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is harvesting their [Falun Gong practitioners’] organs while they are alive, and sell them for profit.” Her friend was shocked and said, “This is really disgusting. How can such things happen?” They both signed the petition condemning the organ harvesting crimes committed by the CCP.

Dulce and Emily were there to buy Christmas presents. The mother and daughter duo read the display boards and asked a practitioner for more information. The practitioner told her that this is Falun Gong practitioners calling for an end to the persecution. Be it in Ireland or anywhere else in the world, people can practice Falun Dafa freely and abide by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to be a good person. However, this is not possible in China.

“This is really very bad,” Emily said. Watching the practitioners demonstrate the exercise movements, she spoke with emotion and looked rather puzzled. “This is such a peaceful practice. Why is it being persecuted?” The practitioner told her, “The Chinese people also felt that Falun Dafa is good. There was a rapidly growing number of people practicing Falun Dafa. In 1999, the CCP government’s statistics showed that there were more than 70 million people practicing Falun Dafa. This figure already exceeded the number of CCP Party members at that time.”

Emily asked, “So the CCP launched the persecution?” She widened her eyes in shock. The practitioner explained, “The CCP does not believe in God. They want to place themselves in the position of God and control people’s minds.” Therefore, when more and more people believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, the CCP will naturally feel that its powers are threatened. The mother and daughter looked at each other and kept nodding their heads, saying that they can understand, but still find it hard to believe that such a peaceful group of people would face such a cruel persecution.

“We will tell more people about this,” said Emily before leaving. We hope that our signatures can have an effect.” Before leaving, she encouraged the practitioner, saying, “Thank you for telling us about this– you must persevere!”
