Additional Persecution News from China – May 6, 2022 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Hebi City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Guo Haiyang, Mr. Yue Chaoheng, Ms. Guan Qingyun, and Mr. Guan Kaiyu from Qi County were arrested by domestic security officers on the afternoon of April 23, 2022. They are being held in a brainwashing center. So far, their families have not received any information or legal paperwork. The four practitioners have been arbitrarily deprived of their freedom.

2. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Peng Aiping’s Home Ransacked

Two plainclothes officers from the Dongmen Police Station and staff members of the community management office ransacked Ms. Peng Aiping’s home without showing a search warrant on April 26, 2022.

Ms. Peng’s family repeatedly asked them on what grounds they were conducting the search, and they said that the police had the right to enter the house to check things out. They ignored her family’s questions and confiscated all of Ms. Peng’s Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong and then left.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Pei’ai Arrested

Ms. Zhang Pei’ai, born in December 1948, lives in Room 902, Building 7, Haiwan Garden, Shibei District. She was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of April 24, 2022. She was arrested and is being held in the Zhenjiang Road Police Station. Her son said that her case was turned over to the procuratorate.

4. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xiumei Placed Under Residential Surveillance

Ms. Chen Xiumei was released on bail on March 8, 2022, and was taken home from the Nanchong City Detention Center by three domestic security officers. They told her that her son vouched for her bail. In the car, one officer said, “It is mandatory that you stay at home all the time. You are not allowed to go anywhere, you are not allowed to visit the Minghui website, and you are not allowed to expose us on the Minghui website.”

During this period, whenever Ms. Chen went out, she was followed by people who were staked out nearby. They used their cell phones to photograph her. Ms. Chen has remained under surveillance, which brought her much mental and physical harm.

5. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Xiuqiong Harassed

Officer Xiao Kaishang from the Xiangyang Town Police Station drove to Ms. Huang Xiuqiong’s home in Hua Village at 11 a.m. on April 28, 2022. He asked, “Have you ever gone out and distributed truth-clarification materials?” He then threatened, “If you are caught, you will be sentenced to prison.”

6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Xianju Arrested

Five or six officers from the Pengzhou Police Department and the 610 Office forced their way into the home of Ms. Yin Xianju around 6 a.m. on January 19, 2022, after cutting off the electricity. They ransacked the place and confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, two copies of Zhuan Falun, and two copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

Around 8 a.m. they took Ms. Yin to the Tianpeng Town Police Station and questioned her. Ms. Yin was released at around 10 a.m. and returned home.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tian Yuru Harassed

Officers from the Xingyi Township Police Station, Xinjin District knocked on Ms. Tian Yuru’s door at 11 a.m. on April 19, 2022. They wanted Ms. Tian to open the door and sign paperwork. She refused to open the door. The officers said that if she did not open the door and sign the paperwork, she would run into trouble whenever she had anything to do with the township in the future at the township government building. They left after making the threat.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiong Xiufen and Ms. Li Xueying Harassed

Officers including Peng Feifei from the Anren Township Police Station, Dayi County, went to the place where Ms. Xiong Xiufen worked around 11:30 a.m. on April 21, 2022. Peng asked her, “Do you still practice Falun Gong? If you have stopped practicing the exercises, I will compile a document for you.” Ms. Xiong clarified the truth to her, and another officer took a photo of Ms. Xiong.

Later, the officers went to talk to Ms. Li Xueying and asked the same thing. They took a picture of her and left.

They then went to Mr. Xiong Wenjun’s home. They did not find Mr. Xiong at his home, and left.

9. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Rongbo Harassed

Mr. Song Rongbo is an employee of the Gudao Oil Production Plant in the Shengli Oilfield. Since the end of 2020, leaders of his work unit and members of the 610 Office dedicated to brainwashing practitioners have been talking to him, as he refused to stop practicing Falun Gong.

In April 2021, the leaders of the plant suspended Mr. Song from his normal work and forced him to attend off-duty study sessions at the work unit headquarters. Since May 2021, he was only paid a basic salary and was deprived of all his bonuses. During the process, leaders at team and division levels in his work unit frequently had “talks” with him to apply pressure.

On the afternoon of April 20, 2022, Mr. Song was coaxed into “having a talk” in his work unit’s meeting room. When he arrived, it turned out that the former team political head Yu Xiaoguang had quietly brought in Mr. Song’s older brother, sister-in-law, younger sister, parents and wife. Mr. Song was threatened and told that if he didn’t stop practicing Falun Gong, it would adversely impact the family’s next generation, including the children's ability to enroll in college. His older brother repeatedly hit Mr. Song in the head. His sister-in-law collapsed on the ground and screamed and wept. His wife wept and complained in order to pressure him to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong.
