1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

From August 3 - 6, 2022, people from the Qingbaijiang District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Dawan Police Station, the sub-district administration office, and community management offices arrested Ms. Wei Denghui, Ms. Dong Jingzhi, Ms. Tu Yonghong, Ms. Zhou Daoqun and a few elderly practitioners. The practitioners were taken to a so-called “care center” where brainwashing sessions were held. The officials also used threats, coaxing, family affection, and intimidation to pressure practitioners to write guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong.

2. [Shanwei City, Guangdong Province] Five Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked

The homes of multiple practitioners in Jieshi Town, Lufeng City were ransacked on July 13, 2022. The practitioners included Mr. Xie Zichu, 71 years old, Zhou Zhe, over 40 years old, Yang Haiqing, over 50 years old, Chen Zhu, over 60 years old, Xie Ling, over 60 years old, and other practitioners. A large number of Falun Gong books and audio-visual items were confiscated. The cell phones and computers belonging to Mr. Xie Zichu and Zhou Zhe were confiscated.

3. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Yanxia Taken to Prison

Ms. Li Yanxia from Tangxia Town was taken to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison on July 26, 2022.

Ms. Li was arrested at home by officers from the Tangxia Town Police Department and the Tianxin Police Station on February 8, 2021. She was taken to the Dongguan City No. 2 Detention Center on February 11. The case against her was turned over to the Dongguan City No. 2 Procuratorate on March 10, 2021, and was brought to the Dongguan City No. 2 Court on July 7, 2021.

On August 17, 2021, Ms. Li was tried via video link in the No. 6 courtroom on the fourth floor of the Dalingshan Court. She was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. She appealed, and the original verdict was upheld in the second instance.

4. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Luan Changhui Taken to Prison

Mr. Luan Changhui was taken to Liaoning Province No. 1 Prison on August 6, 2022.

Mr. Luan, an engineer at the Huludao City Shipyard, was sentenced to four years in prison by the Huludao City Court. His family keeps filing complaints.

5. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Hanzhu Tried

It was reported that Mr. Xie Hanzhu was tried by the Meixian District Court on July 28, 2022.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pan Shijun Detained

Ms. Pan Shijun was arrested by officers from the Gaobeidian Domestic Security Division and the Tuanjie Road Police Station on the afternoon of July 23, 2022. She was held in the police station overnight and taken to a detention center the following day for seven days of detention.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Guiying Arrested

Ms. Yu Guiying from Zhaoyuan City was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong at the Daqinjia farmers market on the morning of July 13, 2022. The police arrested her and took her to a police station. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. She was released at noon that day.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Pang You Arrested

Mr. Pang You from Changping District was arrested at home by officers from the Pingxifu Police Station on July 28, 2022. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books, a cell phone, and an audio player. Mr. Pang is being held in the Changping District Detention Center.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Yanhui Avoids Arrest

Wang Pengfei, director of the Yangcheng Town Police Station in Qingyuan District, led twelve staff members from the Qingyuan District Procuratorate and the Comprehensive Management Office to Mr. Wang Yanhui’s home in Beiligezhuang Village, Lizhuang Township, on July 27, 2022. They arrived in four police cars. They wanted to arrest Mr. Wang, but failed as Mr. Wang was not at home.

10. [Chongqing ] Ms. Yu Dehui Arrested

Ms. Yu Dehui from the Rongchang District was arrested at her rented home in the Yongchuan District by six or seven plainclothes officers on the morning of August 2, 2022. She was handcuffed. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qiu Jun Arrested

Mr. Qiu Jun from Dongying District was reported to the police by a young man while talking to people about Falun Gong in a residential community on the afternoon of August 1, 2022. He was arrested.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Zheng Yufang and Ms. Feng Chunhua from the Polyester Factory in the Acheng District were taken to a community management office by officers from the Chengbei Police Station and staff members from the community management office on the afternoon of August 1, 2022. The two practitioners were pressured to write the three statements. They were released.

Ms. Xie Jinde received harassing phone calls. She was asked to go to a hotel to talk to so-called experts, who specialized in brainwashing.

From August 1 - 4, 2022, police officers and community management office personnel repeatedly called Mr. Zhang Chunyu. They also went to his home to harass him, but Mr. Zhang did not open the door. On February 24, 2022, Mr. Zhang, who had just served a five-year sentence, could not bear the constant harassment and left his home. He is now displaced.

13. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Chuanfang Arrested

Ms. Li Chuanfang, nearly 70, from Yishui County, was arrested at home by police officers from Luozhuang City on August 5, 2022. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books.

14. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Face Third Court Hearing

Ms. Liu Chun’ai, Ms. Li Shuang, Yan Yong, and Ms. Yue Liyong from Xicheng District were scheduled to attend the third hearing in the Xicheng District Court at 9:30 a.m. on August 11, 2022.

Since their arrests in August 2019, they have been held in custody for three years, during which time they have attended two court hearings.

15. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ren Qingbai Arrested

Mr. Ren Qingbai from Muping District was arrested on August 5, 2022. He was taken to the blood test window of the Chinese Medicine Hospital by two officers, to wait for a blood test. Details are pending.
