Additional Persecution News from China – August 27, 2022 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Yusheng Tried in Court

It was learned on August 24, 2022 that Mr. Song Yusheng from Jimo District had been tried in court, but his family was not informed.

Mr. Fan Yanqi and Mr. Feng Liguo from the Jimo District were harassed and learned that they might face a trial. The two practitioners left home to avoid further persecution. 

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Su Yucai Arrested

Mr. Su Yucai, 66, was arrested by officers from the Nanhu Police Station on May 25, 2022 for talking about Falun Gong. His residential ID card was confiscated and he was ordered to go to the police station once a week. 

Mr. Su was arrested again by officers from the Changjiu Police Station on August 16, 2022. He has been detained in the No. 2 Detention Center.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison 

Three practitioners including Ms. Yin Jun, Shen Tianhui (gender unknown) and Ms. Wang Guiqin, were arrested in a rented apartment on June 17, 2020. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books, computers, etc. In June 2022, Ms. Yin Jun was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison; Shen Tianhui was sentenced to two years and six months in prison; and Ms. Wang Guiqin was sentenced to two years and ten months in prison.

Ms. Wang Guiqin was later diagnosed with end-stage breast cancer. She was detained in the ward for sick inmates until she served her term and was released on August 18, 2022. 

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Liwen Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Ms. Zhou Liwen, a teacher in the No. 66 Middle School, was arrested by officers from the Ping’an Road Police Station and has been detained in a detention center. She was sentenced to one year in prison on August 2, 2022.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liang Guimin Tried in Court

Mr. Liang Guimin was a senior manager in a bank. He was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong last year. His home was ransacked and he lost his job. Mr. Liang was tried in the Wuchang District Court on the afternoon of August 26, 2022.

6. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Tian Hui Arrested

Tian Hui (gender unknown), over 40, was tracked while distributing information about Falun Gong and was arrested at home by four officers on the morning of August 24, 2022.

7. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

The police went to Mr. Yue Chunguang’s home on the evening of August 11, 2022. They arrested four practitioners including Mr. Yue Chunguang, Ms. He Xiuhong, Mr. Pan Hongming and Ms. Xu. 

Ms. He Xiuhong and Ms. Xu were released later. Mr. Yue Chunguang was taken to the Liuhe County. Mr. Pan Hongming’s home was ransacked on August 12, 2022 and he has been detained in the Changliu Detention Center. 

8. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guiping Arrested

It was learned on August 23, 2022 that Ms. Zhang Guiping was placed under official arrest by the Wanghua District Procuratorate of Fushun City.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Shouzhe Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wei Shouzhe from Linghai was arrested by officers from the Niangnianggong Police Station for talking about Falun Gong in the Niangnianggong Market on the morning of August 21, 2022. She was placed under criminal arrest the next day and taken to the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention House. 

10. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Zhao Xiuying lives in Dawali Village, Yangjiazhuang Township. Five officers including Wang Peng, deputy of the Daluzhuang Township Police Station, went to Ms. Zhao’s home on the afternoon of August 24, 2022. She was released after she developed symptoms of a severe health condition. 

11. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Changqing Arrested

Ms. Ma Changqing was arrested on August 10 or 11, 2022 for distributing information about Falun Gong. It is unknown where she is detained.

12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Guangjun Arrested

Mr. Li Guangjun was arrested at home by local police in mid-August 2022. He was placed under 15-day detention.

13. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xing Tongfu Harassed

Mr. Xing Tongfu lives in Xu Village, Ganguantun Town, Guan County. Officers from the Ganguantun Town Police Station went to his home on August 23, 2022. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials, three TV receivers, and some cash. They told Mr. Xing’s son that his father was required to go to the police station. Mr. Xing stayed away from his home to avoid further persecution.

14. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Duan Lijing and Ms. Xu Yafen Arrested

Ms. Duan Lijing and Ms. Xu Yafen from Helong Town were arrested at noon on August 24, 2022. Ms. Xu’s home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. 

15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Zhongxiu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Zhongxiu was arrested at home by officers from the Qidu Town Police Station on August 25, 2022. She was placed under 10-day detention and is detained in the Zhangdian Detention Center.

16. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Xihe Police Station arrested Mr. Wang and his wife at 6 a.m. on August 23, 2022. Their home was ransacked and their Falun Gong books were confiscated. The couple was released later that day.

Ms. Liu Shuhua and Ms. Yu Xianhong from Tianhe Village were arrested at 6 a.m. on August 23, 2022.

17. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Xiaoli Harassed

Li Jiwei from the Xinping Town Government Office in the Xinjin District made harassing calls or text messages to Ms. Li Xiaoli on July 7, August 7, 17, and 23, 2022 to pressure her to sign a guarantee statement. She did not cooperate.

18. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Mingzhi Arrested

Ms. Cao Mingzhi lives in Qiaojiagou Village, Damagou Community, Linjiacun Town. She was arrested this spring for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Officers from the Linjiacun Town Police Station went to Ms. Cao’s home at 3 p.m. on July 30, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated some notebooks and a media player. They took her to the police station to have blood samples taken and to sign some documents. She was released later. 

19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Dai Xuefen Harassed

Police officers and local community staff members went to Ms. Dai Xuefen’s home on August 11, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and a computer. They took Ms. Dai to a brainwashing center and forced her to sign a guarantee statement.
