(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners came to Salgótarján, Hungary, for the first time on September 30, 2023, to introduce Falun Dafa to the local people. They also hoped to raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, and the regime’s state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living practitioners.

Falun Gong practitioners (also called Falun Dafa) clarified the facts about the practice and the persecution in the main square of the center of Salgótarján. Passers-by signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
Salgótarján is the capital of Nógrád County, a valley town located at the northern border of Hungary.
Practitioners have held a series of activities to promote Falun Gong and raise awareness of the persecution in seven cities of different regions in Hungary in 2023. Salgótarján is the seventh stop by the Falun Gong practitioners, which included Szekesfehérvár, Veszprém, Kecskemét, Siófok, Balatonfüred and Sopron.
Two information desks were set up on both sides of the square, places where there was the most foot traffic on weekends. Practitioners’ exercise demonstration and display boards caught many people’s attention. People came to learn more about Falun Dafa and the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Erzsébet and Róbert, a couple currently living in Australia, returned to Hungary to visit their hometown of Salgótarján. They stopped to talk to practitioners at one of the information desks, and signed a petition calling on the Hungarian government to officially condemn the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.

Erzsébet said, “If such a terrible [organ harvesting] thing happens somewhere, it must be stopped immediately. It’s so nice of you to do this, coming to Salgótarján. What the CCP has done must be made public.”
Róbert said that he had seen similar Falun Dafa activities in Sydney before. “I think the CCP will collapse soon,” he said, “By then, Falun Gong will be able to practice their beliefs freely in China.”
Retired teacher: “I’m happy to be able to help them”
Hedvig, a retired high school literature teacher, said that she had heard about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and organ harvesting from living people some time ago. That’s why she believes it’s important for people to take the next step after hearing the truth, which is to sign a petition condemning this horrific crime.

She was excited to meet Falun Gong practitioners in person and said, “It felt so good to watch these two ladies doing the exercises. They were surrounded by a very pleasant and calming energy. They are very nice and I’m delighted to have met them and helped them. I wish them success.”
“I knew I had to read this book”
A local woman was drawn by the exercise demonstration. She believed that the exercise would help her and her family stay fit. She condemned the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, and said that it was unacceptable to not allow people to practice freely.
“When I saw the poster, the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance were deeply attractive to me,” she said, “I knew I had to read this book [Zhuan Falun], which is the main book of Falun Dafa.”
