Falun Dafa practitioners held a candlelight vigil outside the Chinese Consulate in Manhattan to mourn practitioners in China who lost their lives in the persecution, and called on the international community to work together to end the 24-year-long suppression.

Falun Dafa practitioners from Switzerland, Czechia, and Austria participated in the event to bring awareness to the persecution in China. Several federal and state parliament members as well as other elected officials wrote letters to show their support.

These deaths also caused unspeakable agony and grief for the deceased practitioners’ families. A six-year-old girl who lost her mother last year became an orphan after her father died in April. The passing of a 73-year-old woman was preceded by the deaths of her daughter and husband.

Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom expressed their support for Falun Dafa and for ending the ongoing human rights abuses in China against Dafa practitioners and other religious and ethnic groups.
Chinese people who watched the parade remarked, "Falun Dafa is the pride of the Chinese people,” and, "I hope Chinese people will some day be free due to practitioners’ persistence and bravery.”
Many people who attended the rally on July 15 said they admired the way practitioners have continued to peacefully protest the persecution for 24 years.
