(Minghui.org) Practitioners held an event at Lumsden Green in Newmarket, the commercial center of Auckland, on November 1, 2025. They told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Dafa for 26 years, and called on all sectors of society to pay attention to these egregious human rights violations.
Many passersby stopped to watch as practitioners demonstrated the exercises. They read the brochures and talked with practitioners who explained the facts about the persecution.
As an increasing number of people in New Zealand learn the facts about Falun Dafa, they express their respect and support for practitioners. Many people say they hope the CCP will immediately stop the persecution and restore freedom of belief and basic human rights to the Chinese people.

The Persecution is Completely Inhumane
Mina and Matt
Mina and Matt from Germany were visiting relatives in New Zealand, and noticed the event. They were shocked to learn of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa. Mina said, “This is completely inhumane and unacceptable.”
She said what surprised her most was that this was the first time she had heard of the persecution. “It is truly shocking that such issues haven’t received the attention they deserve. Many people believe in equality for all. So it is unimaginable to hear that somebody is oppressed because of their faith or even killed for their organs.”
Matt also expressed his admiration for practitioners’ long-standing commitment to peacefully exposing the persecution. “They persevered for 26 years, and still continue to tell people the facts about the persecution. This perseverance is truly admirable. The more such activities are held, the more attention they draw from society,” he said. “Such perseverance and conviction are truly inspiring. Those who oppose injustice in the world deserve respect.”
Watching practitioners quietly do the exercises, Mina couldn’t hide her emotion, and said, “I’m really touched and saddened. The CCP is even persecuting these people who merely meditate and cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. This persecution is so evil.
“What you’ve done has inspired me and brought tears to my eyes. I feel this is truly the power of kindness.”
Referring to the CCP’s infiltration abroad, Matt expressed deep concern. He said, “A Canadian friend of ours interviewed an artist from China who now lives in Australia. She was also monitored by the CCP for speaking about the facts, and she was unable to return to China.”
Mina sighed, “This is truly unbelievable. Such control and fear even extends overseas.”
Mina and Matt thanked the practitioners, and said, “Thank you for telling us the facts. Please continue your efforts. We’ll sign the petition, and also share your stories with our friends.”
Hotel Manager: Hope Schools and Teachers Teach Children Falun Dafa
Judi Basell said Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are beautiful words.
Judi Basell, a hotel manager, said she was drawn to the peaceful atmosphere. “I saw the golden clothing and thought it was beautiful,” she said.
About Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, Judi said, “Those are beautiful words. People rarely mention these words now, but they are really important. Sincerity, kindness, and tolerance—these qualities can make society better.”
She said that sincerity is especially valuable because, “People lie, and lying hurts others, not just themselves.” She added, “When you think of sincerity, you think of compassion, and the two are linked.”
She also agreed with tolerance, “Being tolerant is sometimes really difficult, but it is something we should all learn.”
Judi said that people now overly rely on electronic devices, their minds are occupied with various information, and they neglect inner peace. “If everyone could do more of this kind of meditation rather than staring at screens all day, especially young people, the world would become better,” she said.
“Schools and teachers should teach children these things—to learn to calm down, meditate, and understand Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. If we do this our next generation will be wiser and more peaceful.”
We Should Let More People Know the Facts
Local resident Chris Chapman expressed his dismay and indignation after learning about the persecution.
“To be honest, I didn’t know anything about Falun Dafa before,” Chris said. “But I don’t like the Communist Party, and I oppose atrocity in any form.”
When hearing that the CCP kills practitioners for their organs, Chris could not hide his shock, “Really? Like in a concentrated camp? This is horrible!”
Chris believed that telling more people about the situation was most important to expose the persecution, “At least we should do something and speak out for human rights. Raising public awareness is the least we can do.”
He stressed, “I support any effort to uncover the facts and uphold human rights. Even if we cannot immediately change anything, we should at least let more people know about it.”
