(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the La Jolla Christmas Parade on December 7, 2025, introducing Falun Dafa and the upcoming Shen Yun Performing Arts’ performances in San Diego.
This year marks the 69th annual La Jolla Christmas Parade. La Jolla is one of San Diego’s most culturally vibrant and affluent communities. Falun Dafa practitioners have participated in this parade many times and have won several awards over the years.
One year, it started to rain during the parade, and many groups left, but the Falun Dafa group persevered until the end. The organizers were impressed and thanked the practitioners. This year, the event organizers wrote in their reply to the practitioners’ application: “We are so happy you are back! We missed you!”

The organizers set up several broadcast stations along the parade route to introduce the various participating groups. At one station, after introducing the Falun Dafa contingent, the host announced, “I’ve seen Shen Yun, and I loved it! It’s very beautiful and full of energy.”
Many people said they agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. One local resident said that he also practices meditation and deeply appreciates Dafa’s principles, “Only in this way [following these principles] can people truly achieve inner peace.” He added that he’s seen advertisements for Shen Yun many times but he didn’t know that many of the artists also practice Falun Dafa. He said he planned to see Shen Yun with his family this year.
A Chinese-American woman living in La Jolla said she was pleasantly surprised to see the Falun Dafa practitioners, “Their procession was very impressive, and the waist drum team was also excellent.”
When a photographer wanted to know more about Falun Dafa, a practitioner explained that it is a spiritual practice based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The photographer said they appreciated these principles very much and asked for a flyer: “I will read this carefully.”
The mayor of San Diego also participated in the parade. Before the parade stepped off, a practitioner spoke with him as well as a city council member who was present, telling them about Falun Dafa’s active participation in community events and Dafa’s message of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The practitioner also invited them to see the Shen Yun performance.
