Beijing Woman Denied Family Visits for Over Two Years, While Serving Nine Years for Her Faith in Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) A Beijing native who is currently serving time at the Hebei Province Women’s Prison for her faith in Falun Gong has been denied family visits for over two years. When her family was finally allowed to see a video clip of her in early December 2025, they were shocked to see the once healthy woman had become emaciated and haggard.

Ms. Lang Dongyue, of Yanqing District, Beijing, was arrested in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, on December 14, 2021, while living away from home to avoid persecution. The police beat her so savagely that they broke her leg. It took her nearly two years to be able to walk normally.

Due to the mental distress from the persecution, Ms. Lang’s husband, Mr. Wang Lianyi, collapsed on the street on April 24, 2022, at the sight of the two police cars parked in front of the law firm he was visiting. After a long break, he gathered his strength and walked into the law firm with his friend. He suddenly dropped dead in his front yard the next day.

Ms. Lang was sentenced to nine years and fined 15,000 yuan around July 2023, after having already served five labor camp terms totaling 10 years for her faith. She appealed, but lost the case.

For over two years after Ms. Lang’s conviction, the authorities kept her family in the dark about her detention location. It wasn’t until August 2025 that Minghui.org managed to confirm that she was admitted to the Hebei Province Women’s Prison. She was held in Division 14 for about 7 months before she was moved to Division 13.

According to other practitioners who were previously held in Division 13, the guards there were extremely cruel, and many practitioners were forced to renounce Falun Gong against their will in just a few days. When Ms. Zhao Baoli was jailed here to serve a three-year term, she was beaten so badly her face became deformed. Ms. Wang Ruiling, a 71-year-old from Tangshan City, Hebei Province, was beaten daily and force-fed unknown drugs; she was eventually driven insane and cried and screamed every day.

Ms. Lang’s lawyer requested to visit her in October 2025, but the prison denied the request with the excuse that she didn’t want to see him.

During the prison’s visitation day on December 9, 2025, Ms. Lang’s family went to the prison to see her, and were still denied. With their strong protest, the guards showed them a short video clip of Ms. Lang, who was extremely emaciated with a dark face. The family questioned the guards about whether Ms. Lang was tortured in prison. The guards didn’t address the question, but only said they would try to arrange a meeting with Ms. Lang next month.

Past Persecution

Ms. Lang began practicing Falun Gong in June 1998, and she credits the practice for resolving her asthma and ringworm. Because she refused to renounce Falun Gong, she was given five labor camp terms, including four terms in the Beijing Women’s Forced Labor Camp and one term in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province.

While in custody, Ms. Lang was constantly beaten, shocked with electric batons, and hung up by the wrists. The inmates tortured her while they force-fed her. They once stripped off her clothes, pressed her against the wet concrete floor, covered her eyes, pried open her mouth, and force-fed her. Sometimes she was force-fed cold water mixed with unknown drugs. Several of her teeth were knocked out during the force-feeding sessions.

In addition to force-feeding her, the inmates also starved her and forbade her from drinking water in order to torture her. Sometimes she was not allowed to use the restroom or not allowed to sleep. As soon as she fell asleep, the inmates poured cold water on her.

The inmates once hit her chest so hard she nearly suffocated. Sometimes they stomped on her while wearing high heels. In another torture, they forced her to walk around while wearing shoes much smaller than her feet.

The inmates also sexually assaulted Ms. Lang by prodding her genitals with the handle of a fly swatter or toothbrush. She was unable to walk afterward.

Because Ms. Lang shouted “Falun Dafa is good” to protest the persecution, the guards forced the inmates to take off her pants, tear off the sanitary pad she was wearing, and stuff it into her mouth. When she continued to resist the persecution, the guards found a used sanitary pad in the restroom and stuffed it into her mouth. When blood seeped from her mouth, the guards pulled her head backward to prevent the blood from coming out.
