(Minghui.org) The Tian Guo Marching Band made another memorable appearance at the 33rd Chiayi City International Band Festival on Saturday, December 20, 2025. The band has participated in the event for more than a decade. This year, the Tian Guo Marching Band was made up of more than 200 Falun Dafa practitioners from all parts of Taiwan, and they were once again a highlight of the festival.
The Tian Guo Marching Band was invited once again to participate in this year’s Chiayi City International Band Festival on December 20, 2025.
The Chiayi International Band Festival has been held for over 30 years ever since its inauguration in 1993, and features a wide variety of performances. This year’s theme was “Connecting With the World,” promoting band music through workshops at area schools. The organizers also invite top-notch groups from overseas to join this grand event.

The Tian Guo Marching Band is made up of over 200 Falun Dafa practitioners spanning three generations—elderly, middle-aged and young—and even included practitioners from Japan. They were greeted by cheers as the band marched along Zhongshan Road from Fountain Circle in central Chiayi to Kano Park along the nearly 3-km (almost 2-mile) parade route. The band performed several songs including “Falun Dafa Is Great,” combining their sacred and pure music with synchronized steps, sharing the beauty of Falun Dafa with the festival attendees.
The MC introduced the band: “The Tian Guo Marching Band’s performance is dazzling and magnificent. Guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, the orderly contingent plays pure, bright, and full-of-energy music, sharing the beauty of Falun Dafa with the world.” Spectators on both sides of the street waved enthusiastically to welcome the band as they marched past.

Tian Guo Marching Band Is a National Treasure

Members of the band wore blue and white Tang Dynasty costumes. The combination of traditional attire and majestic music is unique and a focal point among all the groups. Ms. Chen and Ms. Lin, who attend the festival every year, said, “Very moving! We see the band every year and call the Tian Guo Marching Band a national treasure!”
Ms. Chen said, while giving the band a thumbs up, “The Tian Guo Marching Band is amazing and orderly—just like a military band!”
Their Calm Demeanor and Synchrony Is Beyond Imagination

Spectators waved at the band members and took out their cameras to record the moment as the band marched by.
Mr. Chen, Ms. Xie, and other two friends who traveled down south to see the festival said it was the first time they took in this event. They said, “We did not realize Chiayi had such a grand event! They even closed the road and invited groups from all over the world to perform. It’s been a great experience!” They said they were impressed with the Tian Guo Marching Band. Mr. Chen remarked, “Everyone is indeed amazing!”
Many people admired the band members’ energy and vitality. Comments included: “Wonderful!” “Beyond expectation!” “Very united!” “They put a lot of heart into this!” “Their enthusiasm was so moving.”
Ms. Xie said, “The group has strong cohesion. We hear it in the music and we can feel it too! The kindness and peace displayed by Falun Dafa practitioners who follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is expressed through the music they play.”
The Tian Guo Marching Band is formed entirely of Falun Dafa practitioners. In Taiwan, practitioners can practice Falun Dafa freely, but in China, practitioners have experienced a severe persecution for 26 years. Since the band was established in 2006, the musicians continue to spread the message that Falun Dafa is good through their pure, peaceful music, buoyed by the members’ faith in the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.
Ke, an 18-year-old student, said of the band, “They have so many instruments represented. It’s impressive!”
Local residents also loved the band. Ms. Zhou brought her daughter, a student at Chiayi Primary School, to see the grand event. She said, “The music played by the Tian Guo Marching Band is amazing!”
Mr. Xue, who attends the festival every year, said, “Every year, the Tian Guo Marching Band is the finale of the festival. Although their numbers are big, they march in sync and are very well coordinated. Only those who cultivate their character are able to achieve this.”
Others who saw the band also shared their positive impressions and praised the band’s performance.
