(Minghui.org) Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington DC, wrote a letter congratulating Shen Yun Performing Arts on the 20th anniversary of its founding. She thanked the artists for their exemplary work and illuminating the magnificence of Chinese culture.
Shen Yun Performing Arts will present 10 shows in the Washington DC area at the Kennedy Center from January 7 to 18, 2026.
Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington DC, wrote a letter congratulating Shen Yun Performing Arts on the 20th anniversary of its founding.
Mayor Bowser wrote:
“As Mayor of Washington DC, it is my great pleasure to extend greetings to the Shen Yun Performing Arts company on the occasion of your 20th anniversary.
“Since its founding in 2006, Shen Yun artists have performed in 36 countries, more than 200 cities, and before millions of people across the globe.
“Using the power of classical, ethnic and folk, and story-based Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun has illuminated the magnificence of Chinese culture, sparking collective awe and hope among residents of the District of Colombia and beyond.
“I am especially grateful for your work to uplift themes such as kindness, tolerance, loyalty and family, inspiring empathy and mutual respect across cultural boundaries.
“On behalf of the more than 700,000 residents of Washington DC, you have my heartfelt thanks for your exemplary work and my best wishes for a successful and memorable Opening Night.”
