Australia: Queensland Falun Gong Practitioners Rally to Celebrate 450 Million Chinese Quitting the CCP

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Queensland, Australia, held a rally in central Brisbane on August 16, 2025, to celebrate the 450 million brave Chinese men and women who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations—the Youth League and the Young Pioneers.

Many people at the event expressed their congratulations. Someone said, “Quitting the CCP is freedom. It is awakening. What you are doing is excellent. You must continue.”

Falun Gong practitioners held a rally in Brisbane to celebrate 450 million Chinese quitting the CCP.

Many passersby saw the striking banners and practitioners doing the Falun Gong exercises, and stopped to learn more. Practitioners explained that the event was to celebrate 450 million Chinese people bravely choosing to withdraw from the CCP. After understanding what the rally was about, people expressed their support.

Falun Gong practitioners displayed banners and boards, spoke with the public, and gained much support.

A letter of support from Teresa Do, president of the Vietnamese Association Qld Chapter, was read at the rally. She wrote:

Withdrawing from the CCP Is Choosing a Wonderful Future

Helen, a representative of the Global Quitting the CCP Service Center Queensland branch, spoke at the rally.

Helen, a representative of the Global Quitting the CCP Service Center Queensland branch, said at the rally, “For more than 20 years, Falun Gong practitioners have consistently clarified the truth at different tourist sites, exposing the CCP’s evil nature.”

“Day after day, year after year, practitioners persist in making phone calls to persuade people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They have thoroughly and deeply exposed the evil nature of the CCP and its harm to humanity, helping the world see the CCP clearly and distinguish the CCP from China.”

“At present, China and the world are undergoing an unprecedented great change,” she said. “This great change affects the destiny of humanity’s future. It is a choice between good and evil, righteousness and wickedness, truth and lies, survival and destruction. Therefore, this choice is crucial.”

John Dowie, spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Association of Queensland, said during his speech, “The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party exposes in detail how the CCP, through decades of mind control, brainwashing, and terror rule, concealed the historic truth from the Chinese people, and revealed the CCP’s violence and deception.”

He said The Epoch Times website has received tens of thousands of statements from people who decided to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. The number of withdrawals is still increasing greatly every day. It has now surpassed 450 million people.

“Quitting the CCP provides the Chinese people with an opportunity to free themselves from the CCP’s shackles and embrace a bright future. This will also benefit the world and other regions,” he said.

Stopping the CCP from Harming Humanity

Falun Gong practitioner John was illegally arrested by the CCP in 2001, for upholding his faith and clarifying the truth to the public, and was imprisoned for nine years. “In prison, I experienced a series of persecution, including brutal beatings, sleep deprivation, forced brainwashing, slave labor, and forced blood tests,” he said during the rally.

He said that he speaks about his own experiences in the hope that “more Chinese will choose to quit the CCP and break free from the fear of it. This is the best way to stop the CCP from harming humanity and the world.”

Graduate Student in Music: Freedom and Human Rights Must Not Be Violated — The CCP Should be Condemned!

Carl said that the CCP is a major threat in today’s world.

Carl, a master’s student in music at Queensland University of Technology, was drawn to the banners at the Falun Gong event, and took the initiative to talk with practitioners.

Carl said he has always been concerned about human rights issues in China. “The CCP’s human rights record is very bad,” he said. “The CCP is a major threat in today’s world. The CCP’s infiltration of Australia is worrying.”

Carl expressed his support for Falun Gong’s efforts to expose the persecution. He said, “Everyone should speak out for justice. Freedom and human rights must not be violated. The CCP should be condemned!”

Carl signed the petition to support practitioners’ efforts to expose the persecution, and said he would help spread information about the persecution of Falun Gong, especially to Chinese students who have been brainwashed by the CCP.

He also expressed congratulations for 450 million people quitting the CCP and its youth organizations.

Caregivers: The Courage of Falun Gong Practitioners Protesting the Persecution Is Admirable

Saya and Michelle are sisters, and both work as caregivers for the elderly. They were taking their children out for fun on the weekend. They stopped at the rally and listened to practitioners’ speeches, especially about the CCP’s crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, which shocked them. Saya said, “Forced organ harvesting is an extremely insane crime! No one can remain indifferent to such a crime!”

Another practitioner, who had suffered persecution and torture in China, also spoke, leaving a deep impression on Saya and Michelle. Saya said, “Although you suffer such persecution, you still persist in exposing the truth and resisting persecution. This courage is admirable. In the face of injustice and evil, we need this kind of courage.”

Saya and Michelle signed the petition to support Falun Gong and wished Falun Gong practitioners good luck.

English Teacher: “Quitting the CCP Is Freedom, It Is Awakening"

Helen, who immigrated from South Africa to Australia more than 30 years ago, said she used to be a department manager at a bank, and after her retirement she volunteered as an English teacher at a multicultural center. She looked at the photo exhibit of Falun Gong practitioners being tortured and watched a demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises. She said, “You look very peaceful, the movements are very graceful, and the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are wonderful—exactly what this world needs.”

She expressed deep sympathy for practitioners who are persecuted by the CCP. “Persecuting a faith group that practices Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is intolerable. This is a crime!” she said. Recalling her own experience in South Africa, Helen said, “Only those who have lost freedom know how precious freedom is.”

She also said, “Quitting the CCP is freedom, it is awakening. What you are doing is excellent, you must continue.”

She signed the petition to support Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to expose the persecution, and at the same time expressed congratulations for 450 million Chinese people quitting the CCP and its youth organizations.
