(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
2. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lin Jianping Detained
3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhifeng Detained
4. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zheng Deliang Detained
5. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Kuang Deying Detained
6. [Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Lanying Arrested
7. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Yuerong Released After Serving a 10-Month Prison Term
8. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shufan Arrested; Ms. Gao Yumin Detained
1. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Liu Yixiu, Mr. Liu Yurong, and Ms. Liu Jin’e were arrested at their respective homes on January 7, 2026, by Muyudian Police Station officers. The police ransacked their homes, and seized their Falun Gong books, printouts, players, and other items. Their whereabouts are unknown.
A fourth practitioner, Ms. Gao Meiying, was arrested on January 9, 2026, by officers of Laiyang City Domestic Security Division. Her Falun Gong books and other items were confiscated. She was released later that night.
2. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lin Jianping Detained
Mr. Lin Jianping, a native of Guangdong Province who worked in Jianping County in Liaoning Province, was arrested at the Jianping County High-Speed Rail Station while traveling home, after security found Falun Gong materials in his bag. He is currently being held in the Jianping County Lockup.
3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhifeng Detained
Ms. Wang Zhifeng’s home was ransacked on January 8, 2026, by Wendeng District Domestic Security Division officers. They seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and other items. She is being held in the Wendeng District Lockup.
4. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zheng Deliang Detained
Mr. Zheng Deliang was arrested at home on January 6, 2026. He is being held in the Yongxing Detention Center.
5. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Kuang Deying Detained
Ms. Kuang Deying was arrested in late 2025. She is being held in the Kunming City Detention Center.
6. [Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Lanying Arrested
Ms. Li Lanying, of from Changzhou City, Hebei Province, distributed Falun Gong printouts in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture around November 23, 2025. The police located her through surveillance camera and followed her to her apartment. She was arrested and her place was ransacked.
7. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Yuerong Released After Serving a 10-Month Prison Term
Ms. Zhou Yuerong was arrested on November 14, 2024 and was later sentenced to 10 months in prison by the Wuxue City Court. She was released in September 2025.
8. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shufan Arrested; Ms. Gao Yumin Detained
Ms. Wang Shufan, around 70, and Ms. Gao Yumin, around 60, talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on January 9, 2026, and were reported. Plainclothes officers from the Xiangyang Police Station arrested them and held them in the Fujin City Police Department’s underground interrogation room.
The police later ransacked both women’s homes, and seized their Falun Gong books, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, and music players used to do Falun Gong exercise. Ms. Wang was released around midnight. Ms. Gao was detained for five days in the Fujin City Lookup.
