(Minghui.org) A 53-year-old woman in Changchun City, Jilin Province, was sent to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison on December 11, 2025, to serve a four-year term because she practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Jiang Jiatong was arrested on April 30, 2025, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in her apartment complex. Officer Jiang Peng from the Chengxi Police Station raided her home and never provided any updates on her case status to her family.
Judge Li Hui (+86-431-88558230) from the Chaoyang District Court sentenced Ms. Jiang to four years on November 8, 2025. Other details of her prosecution remain unknown. Her family has been denied visits with her since her arrest. They only found out about her conviction and prison admission when they recently went to the court to inquire about her situation. They rushed to the prison, but were not allowed to see her.
Ms. Jiang’s mother and older sister passed away. She is the only surviving child that her 84-year-old father has. Unable to see her, the elderly man became depressed and took a fall. He was twice hospitalized. He can no longer recognize people. His family called Judge Li numerous times to seek his daughter’s release, but Li set his phone to send all calls directly to voicemail.
