Texas governor Greg Abbott sent a letter to congratulate Shen Yun.

Below is the full text of the letter:

“As Governor of Texas, I am pleased to welcome Shen Yun Performing Arts to Texas for its 2026 world tour.

“Showcasing the diverse cultures that make up our vibrant state is a delight for the senses. Chinese history, spirituality, culture, and mythology encompass five millennia, and Shen Yun brings this heritage to life through tales of courage, sacrifice, and loyalty. The stories of the dragon kings, the Jade Rabbit, and the Oriental phoenix have been passed down for generations, and they serve as an important link to the past. In modern times, artists and entrepreneurs of Chinese descent, seeking to revive their timeless traditions, created an artistic experience that is renowned throughout the world: Shen Yun.

“Since 2006, Shen Yun has honored the rich heritage of Chinese music, dance, and dress as they showcase their traditions through eight touring companies that span the globe each year. Using state-of-the-art digital sets and backdrops and hand-made costumes, Shen Yun masterfully blends the past and present to create an unforgettable experience of slight and sound.

“The Lone Star State is proud to host Shen Yun and I am confident that the world-class productions that highlight ancient Chinese culture will make a lasting impression. I applaud the dancers, musicians, organizers, directors, and volunteers who bring this dynamic performance to life as their dedication makes this tour a reality.

“First Lady Cecilia Abbott joins me in extending best wishes for a successful and entertaining season.”
