(Minghui.org) Chen Keren and his wife immigrated from Taiwan to Geoje Island—a tourist destination in southern South Korea—in 2021. Instead of joining the local Fa-study group, he began to disrupt the local cultivation environment. We advise those who are still following or abetting Chen to become clearheaded so as to avoid bringing harm to themselves or others.
Chen is not a practice site assistant, but he gathered new practitioners to run his own “study sessions” and prevented them from participating in activities organized by their local coordinators. Through his followers, Chen also recruited practitioners who were experiencing sickness karma or were not happy with the Korean Falun Dafa Association. In following Chen, some practitioners abandoned the truth-clarification sites they were responsible for, and others were torn between the local assistance center and Chen’s circle on Geoje Island.
Chen performed a diagnostic muscle test from Behavioral Kinesiology on his followers and made wild claims, such as “this practitioner has animal possession” and “that practitioner has thousands of srivatsa symbols (卍) on his body.”
Chen also ran virtual sessions to “exorcise possessing animals from practitioners.” He asked his followers to read an article titled “A Method to Remove All Possessing Entities at Once.” The article stated, “First, clearly recognize that you are possessed by entities and that you are determined to remove them all. Silently affirm that you do not want to be possessed by weasels, foxes, snakes, ghosts, or the evil spirit of the Communist Party; then recite the Nine-Character True Words, read through Lunyu or the first lecture of Zhuan Falun, and finally recite the Nine-Character True Words once more.” He later renamed the Nine-Character True Words (“Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good”) to the “Nine-Character Auspicious Words.”
After going through his prescribed procedure, Chen would tell his followers that they were rid of their possessing spirits. His manipulation deepened his followers’ belief in him and led them down a path to ruin. Chen gathered a group of followers to perform his “exorcisms” even while Shen Yun was performing in South Korea.
Chen also fed the digital versions of all Dafa books into an AI platform. Whenever a follower asked him questions, he would use AI to generate answers and present the responses as his own, leading his followers to believe he had reached a very high spiritual level.
A number of Chen’s followers had forgotten they were Dafa practitioners; driven by human attachments and a pursuit of novelty, they moved to Geoje Island to join Chen’s circle in a collective living arrangement. Chen’s followers also called and texted other practitioners active in their local Fa-study groups, urging them to switch to Chen’s group, which currently boasts dozens of people. They also employed a pyramid-scheme-like tactic: one had to bring in another practitioner to be eligible to live with his group.
A practitioner in Seoul who owns a large house recently invited Chen’s followers to live in his home. There, they only interacted among themselves. The walls inside were cluttered with sheets of paper inscribed with brush calligraphy, bearing headings such as “Entry Prohibited for the Possessed,” “In Times of Danger, Sincerely Recite Auspicious Words to Turn Calamity Into Fortune,” “Awakening Through Sincerity,” “Method to Remove All Possessing Entities at Once,” and “The Sequence for Breaking Contracts with the Old Forces.” There were also poems taken from Hong Yin that had their titles and contents altered. This was clear evidence of undermining the Fa.
At the beginning of 2026, Chen and his followers erected a sign displaying the “Nine-Character True Words” and did Falun Dafa exercises together by the seaside on Geoje Island. A tourist captured the scene and uploaded it to a social media platform. After seeing the video, about twenty major South Korean media outlets maliciously edited the footage and reported it as the actions of a specific religious group, severely damaging the reputation of Dafa. It took the Korean Falun Dafa Association more than a month to clarify the situation and set the record straight with the various media outlets.
Despite Chen’s many activities that undermine the Fa, a few coordinators still consider him the best cultivator around. His followers are still trying to pull more practitioners into his circle, claiming that “the cultivation environment on Geoje Island is very good.” One follower’s sickness karma worsened as a result of their following an individual rather than the Fa, and the person died after returning to their home. Another follower who had been healthy suddenly collapsed on the ground one day; only then did they realize their mistake and break away from Chen.
The Korean Falun Dafa Association has repeatedly urged Chen and his followers to return to their respective regions and to walk their cultivation paths in accordance with the requirements of the Fa. However, they not only ignored the warnings but also intensified their interference with other practitioners.
The Korean Falun Dafa Association hereby urges Chen and his followers to immediately stop any activities that undermine the Fa and return to their own regions. Instead of following individual people, they should take the Fa as their teacher.
