(Minghui.org) An 87-year-old man in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, was recently jailed because he practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Cheng Xiwen’s ordeal stemmed from his arrest in October 2024, after he was reported for putting up information that exposed the persecution. The police ransacked his home, and confiscated his Falun Gong books, some Falun Gong related items, and over 1,000 yuan in cash, and. He was later released and put on residential surveillance for one year.
Mr. Cheng was tried by a local court sometime in 2026 and sentenced to an unknown term. He has been admitted to the Suzhou Prison to serve time. Other information about his prosecution remains unclear.
