(Minghui.org) As spring arrives in the Northern Hemisphere, Shen Yun Performing Arts’ eight companies are delivering unforgettable experiences to audiences in North America, Europe, and Australia.
In the third week of March 2026 the US-based performing arts company presented a total of 32 shows in 13 cities in the United States, Canada, Italy, France, Spain, and Australia.
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s traditional culture through classical Chinese dance and a live orchestra that blends Western and Chinese music. Through their unique performances, Shen Yun showcases “China before communism,” showcasing traditional values prevalent throughout China’s 5,000-year history. Some of the dance numbers reflect the challenges faced by those who espouse traditional values in today’s communist China, and many audience members say they are inspired by Falun Dafa practitioners who cherish the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance despite adversity.
Wherever Shen Yun performs, elected officials issue proclamations and congratulatory letters honoring the company and their mission. Quite a few see the show in person. While commending Shen Yun’s success, they also criticize the ongoing harassment that the company faces from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Some officials have said they were deeply moved by the courage and determination of Shen Yun artists in upholding their faith despite the challenges.
Sydney: “Every Dancer Was Flawless”
On the afternoon of March 21, 2026, the second Shen Yun performance at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in Australia was once again sold out.
Audience members in Sydney were captivated by China’s ancient culture as presented by Shen Yun. Company director Harvi Malhi who watched the show on March 21 in Sydney, said, “I’ve got to say, from a technical perspective, every dancer was flawless. Every move was in complete synchronization to each other, and what a beautiful way to tell stories, through music and dance.
“Some of the stories [were about] where we are as a culture and a people today, compared to where we’ve been,” he added. “If we get back to our core beliefs as human beings, it’s about being good people and helping each other out, and all of that comes from whatever faith you believe in; they all teach you the same thing—just be a good human being.”
“We have one life, and I think you should live it true to yourself. If you believe in something, you should stand for it. Don’t let other people take that away from you,” commented business owner Robert Peter Webb who also saw the show on March 21. “If it means you are subjected to ridicule or persecution, you still have to believe in yourself.”
“The colors and the passion that the dancers display when they are dancing is just really fabulous,” said Tania Taylor, CEO of a children’s mental health charity. “The storytelling is beautiful. It’s really gracefully done. I really enjoyed it.”
Australian Senator: Fantastic Show vs. “Horrible” CCP Bomb Threat

While watching a performance at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 14, Australian Senator Ralph Babet said, “I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed it. It was very interesting. I love the story.
“If you look at the story of the Falun Gong, I mean, what do they preach? Compassion, meditation, and they’re being persecuted. And I think it’s atrocious, and I would love it to stop. For the life of me, I don’t understand why the CCP would have wanted to block something like this. It’s a little bit ridiculous.”
Senator Babet said a bomb threat issued by CCP operatives on February 24 was absurd. “Horrible. Absolutely disgusting, even. I mean, we live in Australia. This is a free democratic country and in this country, you should be free to practice whatever you like, watch whatever you like.”

Morgan Jonas, president of the Freedom Party of Victoria, saw the performance on March 6 and remarked, “Very talented and beautiful. This is the real Chinese culture; not the soulless, soulless communist uniforms of the Chinese Communist Party. It’s important for the entire world to see the real culture.” He also expressed deep respect for the artists who are “in pursuit of spreading the truth about what’s been happening in China for a very long time.”

Lyle Shelton, National Director of the Family First Party, watched Shen Yun at the Sydney Lyric Theatre on March 24. Mr. Shelton said, “I think it’s really important that you keep the Chinese culture and heritage alive in the face of the CCP.
“It’s very impressive. It’s an amazing production, and I’m really glad to be here. I came in defiance of the Chinese Communist Party because when I heard that officials from the [Chinese] consulates in Melbourne and Sydney were telling Australians not to go, that made me want to come all the more. To say that to Australians, that they shouldn’t go and watch a particular production, that just goes against everything that we believe.”
City Councilor: “We Need to Go Back to Our Traditional Values”
Mohit Kumar, councilor for Blacktown City, watched Shen Yun at the Sydney Lyric Theatre on March 20. He really appreciated the opening scene because it reminded him “how we all came from the heavens. It resonates with me in that regard, personally.
“We need to go back to our traditional values where it’s all about family, from family unit to our neighbors, from our neighbors to our community,” Mr. Kumar added. “We are the same. And that’s the message that you get from Shen Yun.”
Elected Officials in Spain: The Foundation of Our Life
On the evening of March 18, 2026, Shen Yun performed its second show at the Fórum Evolución Theatre in Burgos, Spain.
From March 17 to March 19, 2026, Shen Yun Global Company performed three shows in Burgos in northern Spain, all of which were sold out. Members of the Burgos Provincial Council invited Shen Yun artists to visit the provincial council office building on March 19 and presented a proclamation to Shen Yun Performing Arts. They wrote: “We have witnessed an artistic performance that transcends the earthly world.”
This was the first time Shen Yun performed in Burgos. Prior to the performances, CCP officials sent multiple letters to the theater, demanding that the show be canceled. A councilor said that, although the CCP attempted to disrupt the performances in Burgos, Shen Yun’s success was a great honor for the city and he also praised the artists’ courage.

“Therefore, it is heartbreaking to hear of the painful and unjust persecution this art form suffers at the hands of the communist government of China. It is a true tragedy.”

Inmaculada Sierra Vecilla, Vice President of the Provincial Council of Burgos, watched the show on March 17. “For me, the message of spirituality is very important. That is why I was quite moved when I saw the dance about the persecution, and also the subsequent song by the tenor accompanied by the piano,” she explained. “The message is that we are here for a special mission, and for that we were created to transcend the fact that we are a person. Our creation and our real being are divine.”
Speaking of the persecution displayed in two of the dances, Ms. Sierra Vecilla said, “The message is the need for there to be freedom; freedom is important. The freedom in the show is born from within.
“As we were talking about a bit of chaos, of decline of tradition, of decline of values, it is important that one knows that this is the only thing one can really hold on to,” she added. “It is important that people know that there is hope; there is a reason; there is a lighthouse and a stone, a root rock that we have to hold on to in order to live.”

Ángel Mariano Ibáñez Hernando, Member of Parliament, watched a Shen Yun performance on March 19 and said he was deeply moved by the performance that depicted the plight of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. He also learned that, despite the persecution practitioners suffer, they continue to persevere.
“Although we live in a globalized world, we might have limited knowledge of what is happening in many countries,” Mr. Ibáñez Hernando said. He said that is why the message in the show caught his attention, adding that he strongly supports Shen Yun’s mission of reviving traditional values.
Chinese Affairs Expert: Shen Yun Is Valuable
China expert Feng Chongyi watched a performance on March 20.
Feng Chongyi, a China expert and associate professor at the University of Technology Sydney, saw Shen Yun on March 20 and said he was impressed by the show and the value it projects.
Mr. Feng was aware that the Shen Yun artists practice Falun Dafa. “They cultivate inner strength, that is, they cultivate internal power. No matter how the outside world changes or how chaotic it is, if your inner world is strong, you can cope with all kinds of natural disasters and man-made calamities,” he said.
He feels this is critical for coping with today’s turbulent world, and it explains why an increasing number of people are exploring Falun Dafa. “It helps one to face different aspects of life, including all kinds of unpleasant things.”
