(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held activities in front of the Chinese Consulate in Perth and in the City of Fremantle on April 23 and April 25, 2026, to commemorate the peaceful appeal in Beijing on April 25, 1999. Many people expressed their support for the Chinese people’s pursuit of freedom of belief and speech.

Practitioners held events to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the April 25 Appeal.
Practitioners displayed banners in front of the Chinese Consulate on April 23 and called for Australians to help stop the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.
Passing drivers slowed down to read the banners. Some rolled down their windows and gave practitioners a thumbs-up.
A driver got out of his car and showed his support.
A pedestrian (first on left) joined practitioners and held a banner.
Practitioners held activities in Fremantle on April 25. Many people signed a petition calling for an end to the CCP’s persecution. Some held banners with practitioners.
Ashton Rowe (left) and Harisson Manford (middle) held a banner with a practitioner to show their support.
Ashton Rowe said, “Practitioners are a group of nice people who treasure their beliefs. China is one of the countries with the oldest civilizations. It’s their belief that has carried the nation. Chinese people are great! Their culture is deeply rooted, but the Chinese Communist Party tries to uproot it and destroy it. It’s terrible! Falun Dafa should be protected. Any belief with compassion and good wishes should be encouraged and supported.”
Harisson Manford also expressed his support: “I think we should have more activities like this to speak up for those who can’t. Everyone should have the freedom of belief and expression, but they [Falun Dafa practitioners in China] don’t.”
Sheilla Sakaronbe (first on left) held a banner with practitioners.
Sheilla Sakaronbe signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. “Everyone should know this and feel the compassion. It’s terrible that such a peaceful protest is banned in China. We all need freedom to be heard.”
Clay Hardie (first on right), Lachlan Piesse (second on right), and Toby Rann (third on right) with a practitioner.
Three young men signed the petition after hearing about the persecution. Lachlan Piesse said, “What the Chinese Communist Party has done is terrible! They should care for their people.”
Toby Rann echoed this and said he planned to learn more about it after he got home.
Clay Hardie also believes that all people should have freedom of belief and that the world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
