(Minghui.org) “I’m so glad to see Falun Gong here,” exclaimed a tourist from Japan during an event in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, “My parents practice, and this is the first time I’ve seen Falun Gong outside of Japan.” He said he was impressed to see many Western practitioners and repeatedly exclaimed, “Awesome!”
Edinburgh is a popular destination for tourists from around the world. On a Saturday in mid-April 2026, Falun Gong practitioners held an event on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, opposite the old city hall.
Tourists from the US, Japan, Spain, Poland, Ireland, and Australia learned about Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and that the spiritual discipline is practiced around the world. They also learned about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and signed a petition to end it.

Japanese Man
A young man from Japan was visiting Edinburgh with his twin brother after graduating from college. He said his parents read Zhuan Falun with him when he was little and sometimes took him with them to hand out information about Falun Gong. As he got older and focused on schoolwork, he stopped practicing.
He photographed the event in Edinburgh to show his parents. He chatted with a practitioner for a long time and said it might be time for him to read Zhuan Falun again.
Sisters from Ireland
Three sisters from Ireland were shocked to hear about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, especially how the CCP harvests organs from practitioners for being steadfast in their belief.
They all signed the petition to condemn the CCP’s persecution and took several brochures so that they could share the information. One of them told practitioners, “May God bless you.”
A couple in their 50s from Poole in Dorset on the southern coast of England were visiting Edinburgh. They were surprised to learn about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. After listening to several practitioners’ personal accounts, they were worried about the Chinese practitioners’ safety and signed the petition to end the persecution.
A local woman said she’d never heard of Falun Gong and initially thought the event was about organ trafficking. After she spoke with a practitioner, she understood the situation and signed the petition to support practitioners’ effort to end the persecution.
