(Minghui.org) After four hearings, four Weihai City, Shandong Province, residents were sentenced for practicing Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.

Ms. Yu Jingtao, 56, was given six years. She previously served three years of forced labor (2006 to 2009) and a 4.5-year prison term (October 2014 to April 2019), also for her faith.

Mr. Wang Deshui was sentenced to three and a half years, Ms. Xiao Bo to three years, and Ms. Ding Huimin to one year.

The three women were arrested at a rental place on October 27, 2025, while they were binding calendars with information about Falun Gong. The arresting officers from the Jing District Domestic Security Office confiscated a large amount of Falun Gong materials and other personal belongings.

The police put a black hood over Ms. Yu’s head during the arrest. They raided her home that afternoon and seized her computer, printer, and Falun Gong books.

The three women were taken to a detention center and placed under criminal detention.

Mr. Wang was arrested by agents from the same domestic security office on November 27, 2025. They also raided his home. Prosecutor Zhang Luo (+86-631-012166, 15666307581) from the Rongcheng City Procuratorate then indicted him and the three women. Rongcheng is under the jurisdiction of Weihai.

All four practitioners appeared in the Rongcheng City Court four times, including once on April 23, 2026. It is unclear when Judge Wang Guanying handed down the sentences. His assistant, surnamed Song (+86-631-7593097), also signed the ruling.

Past Persecution of Ms. Xiao

Ms. Xiao, 66, suffered severe illnesses during her younger years and almost lost the ability to take care of herself. After she took up Falun Gong, all her symptoms disappeared. She also learned to be a better person.

While working at the Weihai Finance and Accounting School, Ms. Xiao was in charge of purchasing food and supplies for the school cafeteria. During the 10 years she worked there, she never accepted any kickbacks, which is a common practice in China. She also offered to give a school-assigned housing unit to a coworker in greater financial need than her.

After the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999, Ms. Xiao held firm to her faith and was repeatedly detained. After an arrest in March 2004, she was given an unknown term of forced labor and admitted to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. The guards there tortured her and gave her toxic drugs. She suffered severe memory loss as a result and did not improve until a long time after she was released. The police arrested her again in 2017 and detained her for 15 days.
