Stockholm: Passersby Support Falun Gong Events Protesting 27 Years of CCP Persecution in China

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy and Parliament House on July 18, 2026, to protest the 27-year-long persecution of the spiritual discipline by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Members of the Swedish Parliament, local residents, and tourists expressed their support for the peaceful protest.

In the morning, practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises in front of the Chinese Embassy. As in previous years, a practitioner representative read out an open letter to the embassy staff, calling on them to recognize the evil nature of the CCP, learn about the persecution, and quit the CCP organizations to guarantee a safe future. A supporting letter from Nima Gholam Ali Pour MP was also read out.

Practitioners distributed flyers, talked with passersby about the Chinese regime’s human rights violations, and collected signatures on a petition calling for an end to the persecution. Many passing cars slowed down, and drivers honked their horns to express support.

Practitioner Hemant, a software engineer for a company in Linköping, took part in the protest. He recalled when he started practicing Falun Gong after attending a nine-day Falun Dafa introductory class and reading the main text Zhuan Falun in 2011 while he was in India.

After graduating from university, he felt lost and confused and was struggling to find a direction for his life. “Fortunately, I found the right path,” he said.

“Falun Dafa taught me profound principles that I could easily understand. I keep gaining new insights and strive to put them into practice in my daily life. The teachings guide me about the real meaning of life and I can face conflicts with sincerity and tolerance by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”

Hemant said that, because he has benefited from practicing Falun Dafa, he feels obliged to raise awareness of the human rights abuses. “As long as the persecution keeps going, we will continue to raise awareness.”

After work, he often drives the five-hour round trip to Stockholm to participate in activities. “I have read all the Dafa books and witnessed the greatness of Dafa. The CCP’s propaganda is groundless. I want to share my personal experience as a practitioner—nobody pays me to do this.” He wishes more people would “choose justice and to follow their conscience for a bright future.”

That afternoon, practitioners went to Mynttorget next to Parliament House to raise awareness of the persecution. They reenacted a scene depicting forced organ harvesting and some of the CCP’s torture methods, which drew the attention of many passersby. People asked for more information, condemned the CCP’s brutality, and signed the petition.

After reading the display boards, a government employee who said he would be going to China in September was grateful to learn in advance about the true situation there. “Your information is very important to me,” he said, adding that he admired the practitioners’ courage for protesting the persecution all these years. He took a flyer and said he would read more about everything.

A man who lives nearby said he learned about Falun Gong at a health expo and participated in an online class. “This is a great and peaceful practice with strong energy flow,” he said. “It allows me to relax both mind and body, relieves stress, and brings a sense of calm and stability. It is wrong for such a good practice to be persecuted in China. This has to stop.”

A Dutch couple were stunned to learn about the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. The woman, who is a doctor, said it was unbelievable. They signed the petition and took a flyer. She wanted to give it to her son, a lawyer, because “I want him know about this.” She added, “I hope our signatures can help with this situation. We will pray for you.”

Chinese Passerby Commends Falun Gong

A Chinese woman from America said, “Many Chinese people are brainwashed and don’t understand Falun Gong, but people should be open-minded and learn about the real situation.” She mentioned all the missing people in China, saying, “These cases indicate that the common people are in danger of forced organ harvesting.” She was not surprised that this horrific crime is sanctioned by the Chinese regime.

From reading the news and practitioners’ social media, she was aware of how evil the CCP is. “I admire Falun Gong practitioners,” she said. “With your strong conviction and perseverance, it is admirable that you have held out for so long under such immense and malevolent pressure.”
