Australia: Rally at Chinese Consulate in Perth to Condemn the Persecution

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Consulate in Perth on July 12, 2026, to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 27-year persecution.

Jason Moir, a personal trainer who has been practicing Falun Dafa for 16 years, participated in the rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in East Perth.

In sharing his understanding of the significance of July 20 and what it means to the world, Jason said, “The resistance Falun Dafa practitioners in China have shown in the face of a brutal and bloody persecution demonstrates remarkable courage and sacrifice that we can all aspire to. There’s a contrast in that the communist party will do any evil to sustain control and its self interest while the practitioners in China are able to risk their lives in order to protect what they believe in—the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

“Outside of China, we can only do our best to let the world’s people know about the viciousness of the persecution. Its scale and severity are unprecedented and should never have  been allowed to occur or continue. It must end immediately.

“Allowing the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China to continue sets an unhealthy precedent globally. It says that we can accept to live in a world where regimes can torture and kill its own citizens without consequence. Once we reach a level of apathy where we can accept those things, because it is occurring in a different country, I believe it then becomes a poor reflection on our own character.

“Being indifferent to the persecution because it’s happening abroad can also be based on the wrong assumption that it’s happening in a communist country and could never happen in non-communist countries. I strongly believe that people will come to realize more and more that the CCP doesn’t just want to rule China, but wants and already is exerting control over Western countries now.

“If we look at communism’s history and the present, we can see strong socialist and communist traits throughout Western countries today. So I believe that as long as the CCP is allowed to get away with this persecution, it’s also a strong threat to whatever freedoms of speech and belief we have left in the West. If we don’t hold strong to our values outside of communist countries, we will inevitably come under its control. Communism is a deadly threat in this world.”

We All Deserve a Peaceful Life

Fernando Campaz from Colombia stopped and stood with practitioners for a photo to show his support. He condemned the CCP’s persecution, saying, “We all deserve a peaceful life. We are all from different cultures and we are from different countries. We need to show to the world what we are and what we believe. We need to stop the persecution right now.”

Some practitioners did the exercises on the pedestrian street in the center of Perth to raise awareness of the persecution.

The World Needs Kindness and Traditional Values

Sophie Antonio passed by the booth and talked to a practitioner. She agreed that Falun Dafa and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good. She said, “The persecution is very wrong. The world needs kindness and traditional values.”

Two passersby who stopped by condemned the CCP’s 27-year-long persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.  One woman said, “The Creator made everything, and it is all in order, and that is what we should all follow.”
