Introducing Falun Gong to Coastal Cities in Southern France

(Minghui.org) To introduce Falun Gong and tell people about the 27-year persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), practitioners recently visited several coastal cities in Southern France. Starting in Antibes on July 16, they went to Nice, Marseille, and Cannes and ended in Toulon on July 21. They demonstrated the exercises, distributed flyers, and collected signatures on a petition calling for an end to the CCP’s persecution.

Despite the sweltering heat during the six-day event, practitioners talked with locals and tourists while collecting signatures. There were many heartwarming encounters during their tour.

In Nice, a gentleman recognized a Falun Gong practitioner because he'd signed a petition to “End the CCP” in Strasbourg’s Place de la Kleber several years ago. This time, he signed the “G7+7” petition aimed at ending the forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China. Also in Nice, a former deputy mayor brought his family to read the practitioners’ display boards, and they all signed the “G7+7” petition.

In Toulon, as Falun Gong practitioners meditated and did the exercises, many people lined up at the booth to sign petitions. The person explaining the facts to them was a passerby and said he watched NTD Television. In Cannes, after a young Amnesty International member signed a petition, he asked to exchange contact information with a local Falun Gong practitioner so they could keep in touch. A Polish tourist returned shortly after signing and brought practitioners cold drinks.

People thanked the practitioners, some commenting, “You’ve done well,” “You’re amazing!” “You are like a ray of light!”

Antibes: People Are Saddened That Such Cruel Acts Still Exist

On July 16, Falun Gong practitioners launched a televised event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Place Martyrs De La Resistance in Antibes.

Monica, an 86-year-old resident, signed a petition to end the forced organ harvesting. She opposes all forms of violence and injustice and was concerned about the various conflicts occurring in the world today. She felt Falun Gong’s guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance can help people stay positive and maintain a balance in their daily lives. She encouraged practitioners, “What you are doing is truly wonderful, amazing!”

Thierry, also from Antibes, praised practitioners for their efforts. He had never heard of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, let alone the forced organ harvesting. He was shocked that it was a large-scale industry. He told practitioners, “You are doing a very good job!”

Renette, a tourist from Norway, believes that the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance can overcome all suffering. She signed the petition and said she greatly enjoyed interacting with practitioners and was deeply impressed by their exercise demonstration in Antibes.

Dolly is a long-time resident of Nice. She loves Chinese culture and was saddened that such cruel acts are still taking place in that beautiful country. She encouraged practitioners to continue their efforts to end this atrocity and believes this issue deserves more attention and collective action from the international community to resolve.

Two young Swedish women, Anna and Anne, signed petitions after in-depth discussions with practitioners. They said the persecution, especially the forced organ harvesting, is truly horrific.

For Anna and Anne, Falun Gong’s guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very important because they don’t exist in modern life. These values enable people to be truly happy, which they believe transcends comfort and modernization.

Marseille: Continue Exposing the Brutality

Practitioners introduced Falun Gong at Place Général de Gaulle in Marseille on July 18.

Amza said he learned about Falun Gong on the internet during COVID and discovered he could watch lectures online and read the books written by Master Li Hongzhi. He began reading the books and practicing the exercises, and this became an indispensable part of his life.

“I’ve benefited greatly from practicing Falun Gong,” he said. He gave an example and said the teachings helped him understand the root of his frequent anger, and he was able to overcome these emotions and become calm and peaceful.

Regarding the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, he said, “What happened is sad, but kindness will overcome everything!” He’s seen Shen Yun in Aix-en-Provence every year since 2023, and he appreciates the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

Patricia believes that justice will prevail. She was moved to tears when she heard about the persecution practitioners in China endured. As a devout Christian, she saw the vicious nature of the Chinese Communist Party, and said, “Human beings cannot harvest organs from living people like this!”

After learning that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are Falun Gong’s guiding principles, Patricia encouraged practitioners to continue exposing the CCP’s crimes, “Uphold your beliefs and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. You are like a ray of light!”

Cannes: Learning the Facts About Falun Gong

On July 20, Falun Gong practitioners held a truth-clarification event and demonstrated the exercises at Place du Général de Gaulle in Cannes. People came to learn the facts and watch the exercises.

Toulon: “A Disgrace to Humanity!”

Myriam, a Parisian who moved to Toulon to care for her parents, stopped at the practitioners’ booth at Place de la Liberté and heard about the CCP’s suppression of Falun Gong. After signing a petition, she thanked practitioners and said the persecution is a very important international issue, “We cannot remain indifferent to this.”

Juliette, who also lives in Toulon, leads a very spiritual life. She was impressed by Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She said Truthfulness impressed her the most. For her, maintaining truthfulness is crucial to avoid losing herself in a world where modernization is harmful. She was already aware of the CCP’s persecution, and she condemned the CCP’s viciousness and said, “This [persecution] is a disgrace to humanity!”
